I get the message “It appears that you have a non-standard (possibly incorrect) .htaccess file for a multisite install. Cloned sites will not work if rewrites are not configured correctly. Please check the recommended htaccess settings here and make sure your .htaccess file matches.” I do not get any clue what is wrong, I can not find anything wrong with the htaccess file, and the link in the message refers to the network settings i wp-config.
I need help with the creation of a duplicate page on the same website with the use of XML file of a particular page with all of its contents and then customizing to get a fresh page.
Can anyone help me with this issue?
May a particular plugin can do the job, but I am not sure how it can be done by yoast plugin. I am studying the XML creation from yoast and then use it to create another page.
If anyone knows something very good and easy, then please let me know.
Thanks and Regards,

I have been doing an update on my website as I’ve been having problems with the theme. So I created another clone site (https://www.awa-uk.org.uk/staging_y/), set it up and then cloned it back to the original site (both times using the clone option in the WP Toolkit). I have done this successfully several times.
However, this time, once it had said it had cloned it, I could see that the website hadn’t updated – it was still the previous theme. On closer inspection, I subsequently noticed that whilst it is displaying the original home page when I type the address in, once I click on menu items, although it shows the correct address bottom left, it actually then goes to the staging site!
I therefore went back into the Staging site, checked that was all OK, and tried to clone it again. However, now when I try to clone it, I get the error “WordPress installations cannot be cloned into themselves because that would violate the rules of the spacetime continuum.”
In addition, I noticed the original site no longer appears in WP Toolkit and it doesn’t find it when I do a scan. However, the staging site appears twice…
Any ideas anyone?

Everything works on the cloned version except some aspects of ultimate member. When I log in as “Foo”, the login menu item changes to “You (Foo)” as you’d expect, but its link has changed to https://was.sust.earth/user/ — not https://was.sust.earth/user/foo/, as you’d expect.
Also, when I view the account page directly after login, “view profile” links correctly to https://was.sust.earth/user/foo, but when I click on it there’s an infinite redirect.
In case it’s relevant, somehow my default login form disappeared after the cloning – but I made it exactly what it is in the original. The other forms seem to be the same as they were.
Any idea what I’ve failed to take account of? I kept the same versions of everything (including Ultimate Member which is 2.7).
We have several information sites that use the same categories of information, but the content of all sites are localized. The overall look and feel is more or less the same, but there is local customization too. So we want to manage the DB and such structural content in one instance, and allow the other sites to select which categories apply to their location, and manage their content from their sites.
We have about 700 categories of information and several domain names that need this same information structures (categories, etc.) to select what applies to them.
It seems a multisite setup is the best solution.
Our multisite network is set-up with subdomains. But activity and interaction will take place on the independent domains:
Question (yeah, a very stupid one):
In WordPress does one map sub1.primary.com –> other1.com?
or
other1.com –> sub1.primary.com
<span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>Content development on sub1.primary.com:
Or have we got it wrong?
I’ve cloned a few sites with NS Cloner, which worked perfectly after clearing a few caches. However, the latest cloned site is refusing to show up on My Sites dropdown list — it is still accessible through the superadmin Sites menu— no matter how often I clear the browser cache, static server cache, object cache, or restart the browser. Can you offer any additional suggestions for getting the site to display in the menu?
