Hi,

I just created a website with your plugin and everything is working fine so far.

I wonder whether there is any way to display the coments section for each post ONLY for members. There are some posts that will be open for everyone, but I want in those, the coments section to be displayed only for subscriptors, because is one of the advantages that we created for them (to coment in entries and some pages).

How to Create a Simple Child Theme that Completely Disables Discussion Forever

Good Afternoon, everyone. I think everybody knows by now that WordPress has evolved from a blogging platform into a content management system. For many websites, the discussion features are not only irrelevant, but they are also an unnecessary headache. I have read a bazillion posts over the last few years, explaining half-baked solutions to disabling comments on a WordPress site. Some of the posts are so old, you almost need the Wayback machine to read them. So this has been a long-needed feature in WordPress. I have yet to encounter a satisfactory solution.

I would post this topic in the feature request forum, but since others have been doing the same for at least a decade, with little or no response from the WP team, I have to assume they are not interested in implementing a “disable discussion” button. The current discussion settings page is convoluted and doesn’t prevent bits and pieces of the commenting system showing up in unexpected places. You also can’t use it to disable past commenting. I also know you can use a plugin, and I have tried that, but I would rather just use a child theme.

This is what I need to do:
COMPLETELY AND FOREVER, disable discussion functionality and any reference to it on my website, past and future. I would like to have a fairly simple, plugin-free solution, that I can implement (preferably in less than 15 minutes,) in a child theme, and forget about it.
I have the latest version of WordPress installed with the latest version of Parabola theme to date, but it would be best to have a theme neutral solution.
If anyone could offer a simple way to add a “disable discussion” function to a child theme, I would be grateful. If it includes creating or editing PHP files, please explain fully, as I have very limited coding skills, as do many others who might be looking for a similar solution. Thank you.

We have a couple of pages on our website that also allow comments, and would like to use your plug-in for those.

Unfortunately, your plug-in only lists post on our site, and not pages.

Is there a way to get around this?

I know a way to put facebook comments in wordpress and so they stay in place I choose. But I’d like to try this plugin and maybe keep it installed, but for that I need to change places the comments.

Hello

I am new at wordpress and am still learning about building web pages, so yes i am a noob.

I am building a blog based WP page but for my idea to work i ned for my members to be abble to add coment and a picture (from other web page or from computer) a am managing evrything elss yust fine. But somehow i can’t find proper plug-in or technique to merge comment box with add picture function.

So far i have try alot of plug-ins and non of them worked for me.
I just need some sort of solution for members to add pictures with comment as there is on FB, G+,…

Any ideas/suggestions are more than welcome, and thank you ahead

Move Posts with Comments

Does anybody know if it is possible to move posts with comments to a new page?

What I want to do is have a blog page for my posts, but if people then comment on those posts I would like to automatically move the post and comments to a page called Discuss, can this be done?

due to some design reasons of a new wp-theme I want to get all the comments out of the wp-db which belong to a special post (which I know due to its id) and have to display them in a list (like normal comments). I’m just a beginner an thought that it would be easy to build this feature into my theme but I don’t really know how to do that. I hope someone of you can help me. 512K
