Comments not displayed on posts

Hello! Our site is using a child theme based on Twenty Thirteen. We recently updated the Twenty Thirteen theme from a much older version, as well as the WordPress version.

After these updates, we noticed that the comments are no longer shown on the post page. The post still shows “X responses to (post title)”, but with no comments below.

All comments are still in the site backend, so we assume they are still there.

Any clues on why that could happen or what we could try?

The Mantra theme does not display comments with WordPress 5.5.

Additionally, it appears that after upgrade to WordPress 5.5, older comments may be lost with a rollback to the previous version (though these can be restored with a database restoration).

Jetpack Comment Not Working

The Jetpack Comments Plug-in doesn’t seem to affect the comments at all.

Also, the comments on pages automatically display, but the comments on posts don’t. All that’s seen is the small comment indicator at the bottom of the post that says “1 Comment”. If you click on it the comment displays but I’d like them to display by default. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Comments not showing on a skin

Greetings everybody,

I inherited a custom-made skin from a previous developer (not that I’m properly a developer myself), and I can’t get how get the comments back from my posts.

I took code from other skins as well, but now I suspect there’s some kind of variable which they could have unflagged or something like that to prevent comments from showing up.

The site in question in www.dentista.tv and any help is welcome.

When I check the box “Comment author must fill out name and e-mail” in Discussions to change the comment form fields to include name, email and URL, the comment feature is disabled. It stops working. Right now my form field is only a “Leave a reply” box. It would be great if someone could help me change this, I’m going a bit nutty trying to figure it out. Seems so basic. Thank you.

like a lot of peoples’ blogs these days, my blog is about the comments as much as it is about the content. I’d like to create new ways for people to dip into the conversations that are breaking out across the site. .

does anybody know of a plug in or hack that will let me display all comments on the site in a single ongoing thread? my guess is that hardcore users will love being able to browse comments as they come in.

I’ve looked around for a plug in, so far no go

One comment incorrectly displaying

Hey everyone. I have an odd problem that I couldn’t find another thread here for… I have one comment appearing with the authors name/link and the comment meta data, but NO WORDS! The comment was originally held for moderation because of the limit I set for links (4 or more) but I went in and approved it. Still it’s not showing properly. Checked and double-checked any settings that I thought might be the culprit, but I’ve not nada. I’m stumped. Is there some limit to the number of lines or characters a comment can have that I’m not aware of, which this comment may have exceeded? Or perhaps a limit to the number of comments a post can have? If so how do I disable/change it? here’s the post – second to last comment
