how to move comment that was nested in error

I have enabled threaded comments on my wordpress. Someone recently “replied to” when it should be a brand new comment. I have searched as best I can, but suspect that I need to know the answer before asking the question in a search of the documentation.

Without using a plugin, how do I move the comment up one level from “reply to”? I hope that made sense!

Hi all. Just as a disclaimer: my knowledge of WP innermost frameworks and PHP is below beginner level here.

I am simply wondering how to edit the default Comment forms on WP: I just want to change a field. I’d also love to hear recommendations for Plugins that achieve this effect. Surprisingly, all Google searches on this topic yield how to change the code, but I can’t find any plugins.

Anyway, my issue is that if I do have to go in and edit the default Comment forms. I cannot find where to do it. I am using Thematic. I was reading a tutorial from WP Tuts on this very issue, which is here for reference, but I cannot find where to insert/edit any of the code they are mentioning.

Any help would be appreciated. I am sorry this subject matter is so novice.

Hi there,

I’m using IntenseDebate for comments on my blog (https://www.stopthewarondrugs.org) and like it very much. I’ve noticed that blogger’s intense debate allows the commenter to edit their comment, while WP does not. Does anybody know whether there is a pluging that combine both, IntenseDebate + Comment Editing?

Often when I am looking at comments made on my blogs, I also would like to look at the post they relate to. The post is often referenced, but when I click on that reference link, it takes me to the edit window for the post, instead of the post itself.

A view post button when dealing with comments would save a few steps, particularly since I usually do not want to edit the post, but instead, reply to a comment, or decide if a borderline comment can squeak by and be published.

Comment editing not woking after 2.8 upgrade

After upgrading to 2.8, comment editing does not work.

To reproduce it, change an already approved comment and save your changes. You’ve got this error message:

Help with setting up a Custom default user role for P2 theme

Hi there,
I am enjoying customising the new P2 theme and have a specific user role i wish to setup as the default user.
Currently it doesn’t fit into the default roles list so I have looked for a plugin solution. They all seem a little wide of the mark as it is quite simple what i want to achieve.
So
I want a user to be assigned a new profile when signing up, say ‘Board member’
I am using the P2 theme.
When this user logs in I wish them to have the ability to:
– Write a new post
– Edit their own post
– Write comments
– Edit comments
– Click the admin and have access to their own profile for editing only.

Is there any simple way of doing this as i cant find it.

Every WordPress user should install this plugin or at least install a plugin which gives users the equivalent amount of options this one does so users can edit their own comments. So many blogs don’t provide an option for users to edit their comments and it’s pretty freaking annoying. Special thanks to Ronald and the entire Reader Appreciation team for writing and release this plugin to the public.
