When I try to customize the Contango theme, I keep getting a pinwheel. I also cannot change themes. I don’t really even want to change the theme, I just want to customize it. Can someone please help me?

When I press the customize button on my Contango theme, all I receive is a pinwheel. If I try to change themes, it says that the theme has been changed, but the Contango theme still appears. I would like to keep the Contango theme, I just want to be able to customize it again. I am new to WordPress and unsure how to fix this. Thanks for your help!

1) The post’s date box (left side of the post’s title) – I would like the change the shape from square to round.

2) How can I remove ‘written by’ section underneath the post’s title? It shows “By: my name”
