We own a news website where most of our content is irrelevant relatively soon, so I wonder what type of content and pages on our site work for us as corner stone content.
We combine all our content in Content categories (think of https://www.nytimes.com/news-event/coronavirus) where we give a summary of the topic and link to all the top posts, but these pages contain relatively little text and lots of links.
Do you reckon we should mark those as cornerstone content? Or should we rather focus on specific news articles?
Looking forward to hear your thoughts!

Why focus on long tail keywords?
I am currently using Yoast SEO (free) for WordPress.
Here are my question(s) on adding links to cornerstone content on individual posts and archives pages:
1) Does Yoast SEO Premium help in adding the description of cornerstone content and links to cornerstone content at the bottom of each individual post, tag archive pages, and category archive pages?
2) Alternatively, can plugins like Ad Inserter – WordPress Ads Management or AdRotate Banner Manager be used to add the description of cornerstone content and links to cornerstone content in individual posts and tag & category archive pages?
3) If neither questions 1 or 2 is relevant, please explain how one goes about adding the description of cornerstone content and links to cornerstone content in individual posts and archive pages.
Thanks,
Melissa
I see the option to set pages and posts as cornerstone content.
I however do not see the option to set category archives as cornerstone content in the ‘Edit Category’ page.
Am I missing something? Is this option available in Yoast SEO Premium?
Thanks,
Melissa
