Cache is (unwanted) emptied every day

Hi,

I really like your plugin and I use it on almost all the sites I build, but I keep running into a seemingly weird issue. I’ve been fiddling around with different configurations for weeks now and the issue just keeps on popping up.

The issue
The page cache seems to be emptied every day, or it seems to be emptied when I regenerate cache stats on the contents tab

Config
I set the following configuration:

Pre load on
Preload every 120 minutes
Cache time-out 86400 seconds (one day)
Garbage collection 86400 (one day)

I also tried setting time-out and garbage collection extremely high (31 556 926 seconds), but the contents tab still got emptied every time I regenerate the cache stats.

Goal
The sites are very static, I try to just maintain the cache forever, until something changes on a page.

What am I doing wrong here?

Massive number of mails send by iThemes

I’m having trouble on 2 websites with the iThemes Security plugin (free) active. On both websites the plugin causes a massive load of sent emails reporting the “Daily digest”. But mails are sent every minute, or even multiple mails per minute.

I investigated a little deeper and saw that during that period both site had a lot of brute-force-attacks. Ok, plugin doing it’s job… but the thing about a “Daily Digest” is that is sent once a day. Which would have been fine. But now it’s sending more than 1000 mails on one day, all with the same subject “Daily Digest”….

Anyone experiencing the same problem?

404 Error Message

Good afternoon

Could someone please help me as I have been pulling my hair out on this subject. I dont want to take the website down and to manually play around with plugins.

Around the same time each day the website keeps displaying ERROR 404 in all the shop content pages. I then press permalinks and reset them then the problem goes away.

But come a few hours or the next day around the same the same thing happens.

Is this a plugin issue or something I am not doing correctly? I have been scratching my head on the subject!

These are the PLUGINS it is running on?

Could someone please give some advice?

Still getting Daily Security Digest months after having deleted plugin?

So I am still getting the daily security digest in my email, despite having deleted it in November last year.

I have searched for any folders on the server for iThemes but have removed it all. How is this still possible?

How to hide future events?

Hi, thanks for this great plugin. I am now using it to display some “events” (in this case very short posts) on a daily basis, so I am dripping them each day.

I am scheduling them using ical and would love to create events ahead, but then only display today’s one and the past ones.

I found a way to do it in a list view (I created two instances of a shortcode: one for today that has limitdays=”1″, and another one with the reverse=”true”) but the month and week views display all events.

Would there be a way to hide the future events on other views, or use the mask for them? They would then unhide/unmask on midnight (or even at a specified time!) on the actual date.

Duplicate import filtering

I have a client requirement like updating records to WordPress almost daily at sequence. Potentially there may be duplicates which need to be avoided some how. As we plan to automate this, manual process is not an option.

Is there any way to detect, handle and filter out in case of duplicates?

Updraft Not Deleting Older Backups

I have Updraft Plus backing up to Dropbox.
I am supporting two WordPress sites for our radio club.
On each site, I have set the file backup schedule to ‘Daily’ and the number of existing backups to ‘2’ on the ‘Settings’ tabs.
They are both backing up to the same Dropbox account.
Every couple of days, I get an error message saying that the backup has failed.
When I check, it turns out that there are three previous backups and that the Dropbox account doesn’t have room for another backup. I have to delete the older ones to make room for a fresh backup and then manually initiate another backup. This shouldn’t be necessary. Should it not delete the oldest ones to make room for the latest ones? And should each site never show more than two backups?
I am baffled since each site is set to keep only two backups at a time.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?
