1 of the 3 websites I activated your plugin on no longer needs it; how do I de-activate it in my dashboard? It’s allready de-activated in the backend but is still showing as active in my CleanTalk dashboard.

As of WordPress version 5.5, this functionality is included in the core, so this plugin is no longer necessary.

This plugin will still work fine, as it did beofre, with WordPress versions before v5.5

If installed and activated with WordPress v5.5 or later, it simply will not do anything. There will be a message on the settings page telling you that it can be de-activated and uninstalled.

Do they convert to Gutenberg blocks?

Hi,

Love this plugin and is so critical to my site. But it (with others) will sometimes randomly de-activate.

I am hosted with GoDaddy and they will be useless to help.

I’ve read about debugging WordPress but am not a coder and last time I tried to do anything with debugging it broke my site and I had to restore from previous day.

Anyone know if you can prevent this plugin from de-activating.

Any help appreciated.

I already posted a support request concerning menu items not working with https.
Now I’m really concerned since I tried to de-activate the plugin and the html pages arrive disrupted if I ask them via https. I hope the solution may be in something else than restoring a db backup!

Thank you for a fantastic plugin. I have used it with success on a website, but during the past week I tried to activate some options on user profiles. For some reason I cannot seem to reset the settings. It is as if cache is keeping settings, but I have cleared that. i am able to change user roles and it change according to prior setting I have done. It is as if it will not reset the settings. I have deleted all options on the final option, de activated the plugin, still no success, it keeps my old settings. I have re installed, activated and de-activated settings but no help. Thanks in advance for support.

How can you remove qTranslate safely?

I should have read the reviews more carefully before I installed this plugin. Now I want to remove it but when I de-activate it, all my pages are screwed up. Here’s what happens after I de-activated:

I edited a page in text mode. I can see that the de-activation process has created a mess by stacking ALL of the language versions one after the other separated by a fancy set of HTML comment tags which the author has used to differentiate each language. If that was all that was broken I could live with it (it just becomes a tedious and enormous job but do-able) but that’s not all. Its broken two of my other (critical) plugins: justified image grid, meta slider. They just stopped working. I’ve tried re-installing WP itself, I re-installed both plugins but they still don’t work. So I’ve re-activated qTranslate and, presto, everything works again including the plugins.

So this leaves me with the qTranslate plugin that I no longer want. How do I get rid of it without damaging my web site?

Permit me to rant: Is anyone at WP HQ vetting these plugins to see that they can always be safely removed? Now I read that qTranslate stops working (for up to a month) with every WP upgrade until the author (who is apparently not very responsive to this forum) updates his plugin! Now with automated WP updates this becomes a dangerous situation. You lose access to edit your site for up to a month on every minor update to WP! Is anyone in WP HQ aware of this? 1.1 million downloads for this plugin yet WP HQ goes ahead with auto updates!? Ok. End of rant.

I just want to get rid of this plugin as fast as I can but without damaging my web site. Anyone out there with this experience, good or bad, please share.

Remove or delete Plugin

Since I don’t use this shortcodes anymore, I want to delete the plugin. But I can’t seem to remove the Easy Columns plugin. I managed to de-activate it, but when I try to remove it I get an error. After I click: “yes, remove these files and data”, I get to a blank page with the following message:

“Fatal error: Using $this when not in object context in /home/alivingw/public_html/wp-content/plugins/easy-columns/easy-columns.php on line 459”

Someone have any idea how to get rid of this?

removing SEO WordPress

when i deactivate the plugin it seems to remove the original wordpress features and causes the webpage to crash, i even have problems in the admin back in wordpress.

its like a virus that i cannot remove with destroying my site. i removed it once then deleted the plugin i did a Restoration of the wordpress version but it still did not cure my problem.

Rapid upgrading many WP sites – command-line plugin deactivator/activator wanted

I’ve got over 25 different WP sites on the same server and would like to expedite upgrades to current WP versions. If I could script

1) for each domain, de-activate all plugins
2) for each domain, delete old WP, copy new WP

then I’d use a browser to run the upgrade script for each domain, which takes a few moments, each

then

3) for each domain, re-activate plugins

Is there a way from a Linux command line to de-activate and/or re-activate all the plugins in a WP installation? I assume that this must be via some kind of MySQL command line, no?
