I have an issue with using the official language “de_DE_formal” alongside this plugin. When changing to it from “de_DE”, the PayPal-Express button on the product pages that formerly worked in German are falling back to the English language. This also seems to be causing to cancel the process, when clicking the button (the black overlay appears and the little window starts loading up PayPal, but after a second or two everything vanishes and is gone).
I’ve already tried using the “Language Fallback” plugin ( https://de.www.ads-software.com/plugins/language-fallback/ ) and set it to de_DE, but the Express-button still changes to english.
Does anybody know what’s wrong here and how I could possibly fix this?
Thanks a bunch and best regards,
eC
(Sorry, formerly I wrote into another thread and get no answer, maybe because it was not really the same issue like inside this thread.)

Maybe that could be closed.
My problem is about translating the checkout “Buy now” button correct into formally german (de_DE_formal).
There are two german language versions or variants. Probably the most used german version in onlineshops is de_DE, which is more friendly and confidential than the more formally and distanced german (de_DE_formal) variation.
The whole site works perfect with de_DE_formal. Only the PPEC button text will be displayed in english.
When I switch to de_DE, which isn’t really reasonable, but then the button text is translated right and displayed in german.
The folder /wp-content/languages/ contains following files:
de_DE.po
de_DE_formal.po
admin-de_DE.po
admin-de_DE_formal.po
admin-network-de_DE.po
admin-network-de_DE_formal.po
continents-cities-de_DE.po
continents-cities-de_DE_formal.po
/wp-content/languages/plugins/
woocommerce-de_DE.po
woocommerce-de_DE_formal.po
woocommerce-admin-de_DE.po
woocommerce-admin-de_DE_formal.po
woocommerce-gateway-paypal-express-checkout-de_DE.po
woocommerce-gateway-paypal-express-checkout-de_DE_formal.po
woocommerce-germanized-de_DE.po
woocommerce-germanized-de_DE_formal.po
In config.php I force through “define (‘WPLANG’, ‘de_DE_formal’);” to use german formal.
I tried language fallback plugins where you have the option to set up an second language if there’s no language pack. Nothing!
As soon as I switch to de_DE_formal it seems PPECPG jumps back to english.
]]>First of all: Thank you for that plugin!
My issues:
(a) de_DE: In the Quick Stats, the title is translated, but not the content like “Today” or “Last 7 Days (Week)”. I’ve checked the po-file, but didn’t find anything suspicious.
(b) de_DE_formal: If I switch to this localization, no translations will take effect. To test this, I’ve checked the folder wp-content/languages/plugins and didn’t find a file named wp-statistics-de_DE_formal.mo. So I copied the wp-statistics-de_DE.mo & *.po file and renamed them to *-de_DE_formal. This doesn’t work, still I can’t see that any translation will have effect.
So, what can I do?
Thanks!
]]>First of all: Thanks for that fine Theme! I like it, really – although I’m using the free version, that’s best for my purposes.
My issue: When I change the locale in WordPress preferences from “de_DE” to “de_DE_formal”, then some texts will not be translated, so in the post there is a “posted on … 0 Comment” instead of the German text.
When I switch back to “de_DE”, this is translated correctly.
So, what can I do to use “de_DE_formal” with the Graphy-Theme? In the folder “wp-content/languages/themes” there is found “graphy-de_DE_formal.mo” as well as “graphy-de_DE_formal.po”
Thanks!

]]>great plugin, works really nice!
As I changed lots of my clients websites to German formal language (de_DE_formal), it would be great to have the option to create translations for German formal in Loco Trans as well.
Could you please add an option for de_DE_formal on the “New PO file”-/”Initialize new translations”-page? At the moment only regular PO file format xx_XX is supported.
Thanks in advance!
