When defer offscreen mages (Process HTML image tags in user experience settings) is applied, the logo image in desktop is increasing the CLS in desktops from green to orange (web vital tools). I tried excluding the logo, sync to head, async, nothing helped. The only solution is to disable the Process HTML image tags (if enabled via marking the box) in desktops but to allow it in mobile devices.

I am using theme x, which is very popular. Can you please provide me with the code for functions.php to disable only the process HTML image tags for desktop but allow it in smartphones if the Process HTML image tags in user experience setting is marked? You should also consider adding options to apply it to desktop, smartphone, tablets or all.

Still getting defer images

Hi,

I have been trying to lazyload a sites image to remove or decrease the PageSpeed insights error for defer offscreen images.

The site is hosted on a litespeed server with litespeed cache plugin installed.

Flying image doesn’t appear to be lazy loading image?

Any suggestions would be great

Hello,

I don’t know what can be the reason for this but when I updated the plugin from 5.3.0 to 5.3.5 I started to receive that infamous “Defer offscreen images” from Google PageSpeed Insights.

I was unsure about how can this be related to the plugin. Went to my staging > ran the test with 5.3.0 and no defer images warning > just updated the plugin and receive the warning now

Any ideas?

Serving Scaled Images / Defer Offscreen Images

Hi,

I don’t have your plugin installed yet, but I’m evaluating it to see if it’s a better option than my current Instagram plugin. When I run page speed tests, I keep getting a notice that I need to defer offscreen images / serve scaled images for my Instagram feed photos. This issue is bringing down my score quite a bit.

Does your plugin offer the ability to serve scaled images, or otherwise optimize for better page load times? Would that feature be part of the free plugin, or is that only available for your paid version?

Lazy loading images not working

Hi,
I ran my site through Pagespeed Insights tool, and under the Mobile tab, it shows that I can save 8-9s by deferring offscreen images. My understanding is that it recommends lazy loading below the fold images

Now, I have enabled Jetpack Site Accelerator and Lazy loading images modules. I think that the lazy loading images module isn’t working for my site. Please help me resolve this issue.

Thanks for a fantastic plugin! I’ve been using it on a few sites now with great results.

I ran into some trouble today – I’m using Google PageSpeed Insights to check for issues, and the Mobile tab still reports that offscreen images are not deferred (Desktop is fine). However, I know that the plugin is working because the lazyload class exists and then is changed when scrolling down the page. Do you know what could be causing this to happen?
