Hello, We’ve recently installed this plugin. We want to use the WordPress site as a place to test a new line or products that are not offered on our main BC store front. When I synced BC to the WordPress install, I forgot to unassign the products at the BC end. SO I ended up with everything – which I do not want.

Is it safe to delete the categories and products from within WordPress?

Does this affect the BC store at all??

removing post categories

Hi there.

I am currently reorganizing my blog (https://www.christian–guitar.com) and I want to remove some post categories to give the blog a cleaner, more organized appearance. I cannot find the way to do this however. There does not seem to be an option to delete a category. Can anyone help me with this?

Deleted Category Childs Still in Site Map

Hope you gurus can help me… Read tons of posts here and couldn’t find an answer — and I’m not a database chic which doesn’t help.

So what I did was some category clean up, by deleting some categories and without as many childs. Deleted categories and moved all the posts to the categories they were to be in but now my XML site map is still reflecting the childs and they are not listed in the control panel for me to delete. An example of an old child in my site map:

https://www.mysite.com/muse/category//old-child-category/

Of course this pulls a 404. I would like to have my site map not reflect these. Can anyone spoon feed me on what to do?

Deleting the Uncategorized category?

Hi Everyone, i was just wondering on how i could delete the uncategorized category? Cant tick on it and delete it. Thought of renaming it but will this effect anything?

Old categories still show in write post

Hi everyone,

There seem to be quite a few posts on deleting categories on the forum, but I have not seen my question. I did delete old categories (they no longer show up in the manage categories area), but when I write a new post, they still show up as a clickable option. Since we have multiple users on the blog and I don’t want them to accidentally check the wrong category, I really want to get rid of them completely. I’ve tried replacing the categories.js file, cleared the cache etc. etc., but unfortunately no luck yet. Any suggestions?
