Website hacked, Wordfence disabled?

Previous Admin person has installed free Wordfence.
After the site has been hacked, I assumed that Wordfence has either been disabled or uninstalled by the hacker.
I tried to install Wordfence again but came up with an error message:
“Installation failed: Destination folder already exists”

Hello,

I accidentally deleted the WP FullCalendar Plugin. When I tried to installed it again. It shows: Installation failed: Destination folder already exists.

Where can I find the destination folder so I can delete it and do a fresh installation?

Hi,

I attempted to install Yoast SEO on a brand new wordpress instance and received this message.

I have looked at my plugin folder in SiteGround and there is definitely no folder for Yoast SEO already in existence, so I am stumped…

Is the best solution to upload the extracted plugin folder to the /plugins folder?

I may have previously installed another Yoast solution (Duplicate Post) but I doubt that would be a reason?

Unable to install WooCommerce Plugin

Hey there,

I just reset my WordPress site so that I could rebuild it from scratch with a new theme. I’m using the Tesseract Advanced theme, which I’ve installed, and WooCommerce is one of its recommended plugins. I am not setting up a webstore right away but I will be soon.

However, when I try to install the plugin in, I get the following error:

Installing the plugin…

Destination folder already exists. /home/jbknibbs/jbknibbs.com/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/

Plugin installation failed.

I’ve never to my knowledge installed WooCommerce before. Can anyone help? I’ve emailed the guy who hosts my site to see if my PHP is up to date… Though I’m not entirely sure what that is.

Hello,

I have an issue with one website. Almost every plugin and every theme fail to update.
I got the same message “Destination folder already exists” and “installation failed”

I read hundreds of topics and I’m not happy with the scenario that every time I have to think “will it be successful or fail”.
This is not one off situation.
Server admin checked user and group setup to the webserver folders. Checked attributes. These are set to 755 and files to 644 as what I can see.
We tried to setup directories to 775, but this did not help.

So, my question is not only how to fix it but what is causing this ?
I cannot login via ftp all the time and manually delete the folders and the files.

Updraft Plugin Missing & Destination Folder Already Exists

I noticed that my UpdraftPlus plugin was missing today. I went to install it again (I never deleted it) it gives me an error message saying “Installation Failed: Destination folder already exisits.”

Hello,
today I didn‘t saw Yoast on my WP -> plugins!
Can‘t explain it, because I never would delete it!

So, after no explanation I tryed to install it again
but couldn‘t, because folder and files still exist!

What could have happen here?
And how can I install Yoast again with ceeping my datas?

Hi all,

Can someone please help me as I’m getting rather desperate and I’ve pulled all of my eyelashes out.

I’m trying to download this plugin and it keeps failing becuase it already exists. I have been looking for where it might exist and I can’t find it.

I really need help as it’s not working and I don’t know what else to do.

Events Calendar Pro not running

I have the newest version of Events Calendar Pro installed on my site, however it does not appear on the site. I think this is because I need to have the original Events Calendar installed as well and it looks like that was removed when Events Pro was installed (before I took over site management).

Now, when I go to install The Events Calendar, it says Install Failed: Destination folder already exists. I don’t have the plugin already installed and I can’t find any record of it anywhere, but I’m also not very familiar with navigating code so it could be hidden somewhere.

I need my calendar back! Help?
