So an acquaintance asked me for some help on his website. I’m a web app developer with 2 years of experience, but have never touched wordpress before. When you go to his site: https://www.duiseattle.com/ you see “Directory Listing Denied”. And when you go to his admin login page: https://duiseattle.com/wp-login.php you get a 404 error “The page cannot be found”.

He had been paying a guy to update his site, but the guy seems to have mysteriously disappeared. The only page that is showing up at all is https://www.duiseattle.com/content/ but it seems to have lost all of its styles. I’m not sure where to even start, because he doesn’t know the email address associated with his wordpress account. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi all,

I am administering my own family web site
using IIS 5.1 on WinXP sp3.

I already have Default Documents Enabled
with index.php at the top of the list.

I’ve had wordpress up n running for a week or two.
without issue while looking thru themes for mobile phones support.

I don’t know why but now I’m getting
“Directory Listing Denied” error
when browsing to localhost/wordpress.

However, localhost/wordpress/index.php
loads my wordpress activated website as expected

https://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin I’m getting
“Directory Listing Denied” error

https://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/admin.php
display a blank web page

I know that iis 5.1 does NOT use .htaccess

Any positive constructive assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve managed to install a new blog on my server, but when I try to login I get the error message “Directory Listing Denied. This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.”
Would appreciate any advice.

I’ve unpacked the WordPress folder, uploaded into the wwroot folder, created wp-config.php with the right information. When I go to www.skylinereviews.com, my homepage, it returns

Directory Listing Denied after Login

Hello,

I’ve installed wordpress to a subdirectory on my domain, but when I try to log in with the username admin and password provided, I receive the error message, “Directory Listing Denied. This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.” I can go to www.girlpaladin.com/leftunsaid/index.php and see my WordPress blog, but if I leave off the index.php, I get the same Diretory Listing Denied error.

I’ve unstalled WordPress, reinstalled it, tried different subdirectories; same deal each time.

I searched this support forum for that error, and contacted my webspace provider, since that seemed to be the common recommendation. My webspace provider helpfully replied back that they do not provide customer support for WordPress and that I should contact WordPress support. However, they know the software works on their server because others have reported using it successfully.

My webspace provider is www.freedom2surf.net. I’d very much appreciate your help in figuring this out.

Hi:
I seem to be having a problem completing the installation process. I have edited the wp-config by following the instructions in the codex.

It initially tells me that I’ve had success with the install and gives me a username (admin) and a lengthy password. However when I try to login using this information it gives me the following message:
“Directory Listing Denied
The virtual directory does not allow contents to be listed.”

I’ve repeated the install twice and I get this message both times.
Any suggestions?

On ixwebhosting.com, have one wp site up and running, have installed another wp site, but get the message Directory listing denied. This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed. Have done everything I know how to do, which isn’t that much. Wasted the last 6 hours looking for answers. Now I give up. Any help? My site comes up when I put in www.appleseedmusical.com/wp-login.php, but when I click on the admin link, it gives me This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.

I’m on the brink of madness. Can you help?

I have loaded the 2.71 version and gone though all the troubleshooting however I still get a error message “Directory Listing Denied” after attempting to login to admin. My server info is https://olive.sloanproperty.com/testphp.php

When I want to login I go to the url https://www.satelitesinvisibles.com.ar/wordpress/wp-login.php
and put my usser and pass. Then i′m redirect to this page: https://www.satelitesinvisibles.com.ar/wordpress/wp-admin/
With this information:
“Directory Listing Denied
This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.”

My database is in mysql10
Could you tell me where is my problem?
