Our requirements for the document management tool are

• Direct integration with office tools (MSOffice but also LibreOffice would be appreciable).
• An integration (like a cloud) with windows would be a nice to have (but not mandatory)
• A versionning (with Major/Minor/Patch numbering) keeping all versions accessible
• Customizable validation process
  • what role or person have to validate a document before its publication – with deputee possibility
  • send the request by mail
• Digital signature for the validation with regular reminders or default validation after a given time

If no plug-in or set of plug-ins could satify those requirements, there are maybe other solutions that you have already tried

The description of the PRO plugin is missleading (“WordPress Download Manager is a Files / Documents Management Plugin to manage, track and control file downloads from your WordPress Site. Use Passwords, User Roles to control access to your files… etc…”).

As it stands after the payment, the pro plugin does not do this task alone. One needs to buy a suplementar add-on to make it work.

2. The button that gathers all the files in a single one does not work. The assistance is available but they ask for admin access in order to try to solve the problem.

When I pay for some app I expect it to do what it describes/sells and to do it well at once. For my purposes this plugin does not work. 1 star.

The absolute best part is that it is NOT database dependent!

You can add files locally on your server and immediately they are available to your clients. Even outside the path of the WordPress structure. No more fussing with path/path/path/wp-uploads. Put them anywhere on the drive, and in the File Manager folder settings, point to them. Excellent. Best feature of all.

Can anyone tell me what would be involved in creating this integration? Sounds like I might need to hire a plugin developer.

I need to restrict access to some of those documents by category. I have Groups installed and am trying to figure out which add-ons I need. I think “Groups Restrict Categories” will work, but then do I also need the “Groups File Access” to keep people from getting to the uploaded PDF’s, xls, etc.? Will I have to assign the file to a group and then the post I attach it to?

Is there a way to just say a certain folder on the server belongs to a certain group?

I am searching for a solution, with which the endusers can upload files and those files are stored in a different folder for each user in google drive or dropbox of the admin. Lastly, I would like the specific user to be able to see their past uploads.
