If I move the database, wp-content/plugins, wp-content/themes, wp-content/uploads, robots.txt, .htaccess to the .ro domain, and on the old .eu domain I do a 301 redirect, would that be OK? Will it affect my SEO?
Basically, when someone searches for “search term”, the link from the old .eu domain should redirect to the same link, but on the new .ro domain.
Thanks,
Nicu.
I am using xili-language to have four language versions on this page:
https://vision.wettintv.de (WordPress address)
I want to use the domain https://www.vision-videoschool.eu as website address for the blog.
(It is just forwarding to https://vision.wettintv.de via another server where it was registered. Forwarding is working.)
But when I define it in the settings as the website address, switching between different language versions is not working anymore.
May I have to define something for the xili-labguage plugin seperately?
Thx in advance!

]]>I found already some solutions on the web, but none of them work for me or maybe I just forgot something important…but from the beginning:
I own the domain: www.narangie.de
I have my WordPress at: https://genetis.grus.uberspace.de/narangie/
I forwarded the domain to the WordPress folder
–> Everything works fine so far
Problem: In the address bar the Serveraddress “https://genetis.grus.uberspace.de/narangie/” is shown and not “www.narangie.de”.
What I tried:
I went to Settings/General and adjusted the URLs there:
WordPress Address (URL): https://genetis.grus.uberspace.de/narangie/
Sire Address (URL): https://www.narangie.de
–> The links on my blog point to e.g. “https://www.narangie.de/?p=1065” but once loaded they are resolved to “https://genetis.grus.uberspace.de/narangie/?p=1065”
I also tried
– pointing the domain to the root folder with a index.php that points to /narangie
– forwarding to another WordPress installation o the same server just to make sure I didn’t play around too much wiht all the settings.
Does anybody have any suggestion how to get my domain in the address bar?
Thanks for any help
]]>I installed the new site under mysite.com/it (not using multisite) and I set up in the mysite.it domain the Records @,www,* to be the IP of the Godaddy hosting server (didn’t change DNS).
Also in Godaddy I added a new domain in the hosting account and set up the folder for this domain as “it”
It’s working but only the home page, if I go to any other pages it displays “Internal Server Error”
Should I map, forward, point, rewrite….getting mad, any help?
]]>Here’s what I did:
1.) I set the directory of my new URL to “/wordpress”. Every page loaded at that point, the only issue was my flash images didn’t show up (the images are in the /wordpress directory).
2. I then forwarded my old domain to my new one. Now I get kicked off my wp-admin login page & the flash images are still not loading.
Any ideas?
]]>Initially it was decided that we will forward the url from www.Company1.com to www.Company2.com but www.Company2.com url will be visible in address bar.
Any other technology or idea where as anything is done at backend but in frontend in the address bar only www.Company1.com name should be visible even if the data is coming from www.Company2.com website.
Thanks for your help in advance.

]]>I recently decided to move to WordPress for this blog. All of my hosting is at HostGator, and I can host unlimited domains there. So I setup an addon domain in Cpanel called tourgolfblog. No problem, installed wordpress to that folder in the directory, everything is working fine. I was accessing my site via https://www.netgolfgames.com/tourgolfblog/wp-admin because I hadn’t set the DNS over at GoDaddy to point to HostGator yet.
My problem is that I think I may have done something in the URL of Site / URL of Blog boxes of General/Settings area of wordpress because now my domain is on a loop and keeps trying to go back to the blog on Blogger. I can’t access it via www.TourGolfBlog.com or https://www.netgolfgames.com/tourgolfblog/.
I don’t know how to fix this..the DNS servers are correctly pointed over at GoDaddy…but I have no access to my WordPress Dashboard now. Any tricks on what I can do to get in there and see if there’s a setting that’s causing this. Thanks.
