I have an old post (https://amtuitam.pl/wroclaw/akropolis/), everything is ok, when I click on photos I open a light-box with gallery. Then, I cloned the post, the lightbox does not work, I changed nothing, just duplicated https://amtuitam.pl/wroclaw/akropolis-2/ – does anyone have an idea how to start looking for a reason and a solution? thx in advance

wir benutzen das Plugin “Yoast Duplicate Post” um Beitr?ge zu duplizieren, jedoch wird bei der duplizierten Version des Posts beim Teilen der Titel und das Beitragsbild vom Ursprungspost eingebunden. Dieser Fehler tritt nur bei den duplizierten Posts auf und nur wenn man diese über Facebook teilen m?chte, bei Pinterest z.B. werden das neue Beitragsbild und der Neue Titel verwendet.
Wir haben bereits das “Yoast Duplicate Post” Plugin deaktiviert und bei Shariff die Einstellungen zum Einbinden der Buttons zurückgesetzt, jedoch hat dies nicht geholfen.

I tried to deactivate and test all plugins and nothing seems to make a difference. Any chance someone knows a solution?

I’m one of the unfortunate potential users that encountered this issue: the first post on the home page is duplicated.

Since the plugin’s author said that the cause is not his plugin but some kind of conflict in our sites, I’m asking you if someone have solved the problem or have found a workaround that did the job.

The same issue happened with WP version 3.3.1

As of now if you create two (2) posts with the same title you get the following:

https://www.domain.com/test/
https://www.domain.com/test-2/

If you create a third post, you then get another url like:

https://www.domain.com/test-3/

I am working on a directory, so the odds of someone having the same name is pretty good; therefore I want to append a custom url string to the end of the duplicated name – not just a 1 digit number.

Is there a way for me to add a custom 4-5 digit string at the end of a duplicate post/page/listing? So that it reads:

https://www.domain.com/test/
https://www.domain.com/test-#####/ < the random string

1. Some urls have added random numbers at the end. Always a lot of random number in two folders. For example after post url there will be: ‘1345431480000/1345720497000’ How can I find these posts (urls) in database? How can I redirect to original post?

2. other links will have ‘br/v=1/2534374302125571.htm’ added to the end. So starts with ‘br/v=1/’ and then some random numbers. Same – how can I find all this urls in database? Ans how to redirect any link ending with ‘br/v=1/2534374302125571.htm’ to original link.

3. At the same time I discovered some duplicated posts. To find them I was thinking of using query: SELECT* from wp_posts where post_name LIKE “%-2” And then delete all thsoe posts. Next to avoid 404, redirect them back to original post with:
RewriteRule ^(.*)-2 /$1 [L,R=301]

Will this ruin post that have ‘-2’ in the title? Like for the example “New Season 2012 Shoes” will be cut from ‘new-season-2012-shoes’ to ‘new-season’ ? Is there a solution to apply this only post ending with 2, 3 or 4?

I should mention that I use WP 3.3.1, WordPress SEO plugin and permalinks with mysite.com/%category%/%post_name%/

Do you have additional details for this plugin?

for example if I want to redirect any post ending with -2 (duplicated post) to same url without -2
so exmaple.com/blog/post-2/ to go to
example.com/blog/post/
but i need to do this on number of posts, so need some formula, can’t do it manually for each post.

Awesome plugin. But have one issue. It doesn’t work on website with lot fo posts To delete 100 posts – works BEAUTIFULLY! But to crawl 20,000 and delete 2,000 – it just die after first 100.

Plugin is very good in finding duplicated posts. That part is AWESOME. But once it find them, and even if I select to delete 100 at time – it will take like 20 minutes for this process. It will delete 100, I check posts count. But after that comes with blank page and you have to run search again. So it really takes like 30 min to delete one batch of 100 posts. If you sort this issue with script it would be A BEAUTY. I am first to donate when this is sorted
