I have a VOB video of 822 Mb. I would like to add this to one page of my site using WordPress such that visitors can watch it directly on the page.

I have already copied this VOB video to my server, so it has a URL link now.

WordPress running on DVD

Just checking before I dive into wordpress that it will actually do what I want.
Can I produce a website (to do with the history of a club)that will have a few mainly text pages, but be primarily a photo gallery with lots of images. The images are to be tagged and searchable by the tags. That bit I’m guessing wont be a problem.
The problem bit is I need to run this from a DVD, there are a few solutions to needing PHP and SQL, but has anyone used them ?
I’d be a bit miffed if I produced a site that did what I wanted online but failed when moved to DVD

Help w Downloadable Music, DVDs and eBooks

Hi,
I want to offer downloadable goods in one of my sites but I’m a newbie with downloadable products and need some tips/suggestions. I want to offer downloadable music, DVDs and ebooks. We’re already selling physical products using wp-ecommerce (getshopped).
– What format should the downloadable goods be in? I figured the music files can be mp3s and ebooks PDFs but what about DVDs? I know nada about video. :/
– Are there specific hosting requirements we should consider? What might be a good host for this purpose? We’re moving from the worst of the worst. Can you guess?
– What about security? Will my ecommerce plugin be enough to protect the files? We’d love it if we can prevent sharing or copying as well. I saw another plugin has a “PDF stamper” feature – sounds interesting. Any other ways to do something like that?
Any tips will be greatly appreciated!!

Release Date List

Hey, I’m trying to figure out a way to make a DVD release date list on the homepage to a site without having to make a blank post for each release then exclude other categories. There’s got to be a plugin or some way to accomplish this.

Simple event list sounded like it could fit the bill until I saw each event needed a list.

Ideally if I signed into my wordpress admin account I would just add a date and then a title somewhere and submit it.

Example output: 3/25/09 | MadeDVDNameHere.

Anyone do something like this before?

I had been using the Now Reading Plug-in for a year when I realized that all I wanted was a list that changed frequently. I didn’t want to take the time to write reviews–just a list with author and link. I use Yahoo Pipes to grab XML from a Wish List with Amazon Web Services and the FeedList plug-in to display this RSS feed.

In order to add an item to the list, just add an item to your Amazon wish list.

I saw a couple plugins but nothing was near what I was looking for except MyTreasures which apparently is only in German atm. Anybody know a good plugin I could add to my sidebar that lists collections of movies or books or music? And something that allows you to possibly rate or review it?
