v1.7.0 introduced a compatibility issue with Easy Digital Downloads

Hi!

I wanted to report that, since v1.7.0, this plugin breaks the license renewal/new payments links in Easy Digital Downloads Software Licensing plugin.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

Rollback to KB Support v1.68 on a system with Easy Digital Downloads and Software Licensing installed and configured.
Follow any license renewal links in a private window, e.g. https://yourdomain.com/checkout/?nocache=true&edd_license_key=123456789&download_id=1234
You should now see a checkout page, with the product’s details, user personal fields to fill, and a link to buy make the pay vía paypal
Now, update to KB Support v1.7.0 on that same system and follow the same steps.
You’ll see that you get a “Your cart is empty” message on screen and you’re unable to continue checkout.

I only just found out about it. Hopefully this can be resolved. In the meantime, I will stay on version 1.6.8. Thanks in advance!

I recently pulled the trigger and purchased EDD/Pro. Install was easy, however, I did run into a couple of little snags. I emailed EDD support each and every time they responded within an hour, with a solution. My most recent request was a form layout issue. Again they responded quickly and offered to log in to my server and resolve it. They didn’t have to, it was a design issue, but they took the extra steps and helped me. Support is just as important as the product itself. The EDD team has been available to me every step of the way in launching my new site. Thank you EDD team!!

I tried this out because I saw a competitor using it. I typically sell around 30 codes per day across a few different marketplaces and on my website so it was not 100% needed.

But, once I implemented it, I realized that I’ve been living in unneeded chaos sending codes manually, answering repeat questions, tracking inventory and ZeroOne just does it for me. Things aren’t perfect, but, the team has been responsive and helpful in taking feedback and incorporating it.

Thank you for your awesome plugin – I tried to do what your plugin does with the commercial custom forms plugin and I couldn’t. Custom forms simply lacks that extra code that will add the order note to an email notification, which is where I will read it. So congrats on addressing this issue.

I wanted to know if it would be possible to change the text rendered above the textfield (e.g. to change the text from “Anything you feel we need to know.” to “Anything you feel I need to know.”

Would it be possible to change the output position of the field. On your screenshot it is below the username – in my form it is between the payment options and name field.

Integrating existing license key system with shop

We are setting up a shop. We have an existing API which given an e-mail address will return a license key for our desktop app.

I’ve been browsing the EDD and woo-commerce extensions but not found anything helpful.
I’m not sure what the best approach is for fulfilment. But at a minimum we’d need to run a custom action after the purchase is completed and send the user their license key.

Or maybe generate the license key, associated it with the users account on WordPress and then allow them to download it.

Has anyone done anything like this, any suggestions on the best approach or plugins to look at?

Hi,

How do I know if the IPN listener works? If I copy and pase the IPN URL I see the home of the website.

I’m trying to find out what happens because the orders remains pending in sandbox. I’m seeing the requests from paypal in the server’s access log but I don’t know if it’s working properly.
