how to see/edit code for storefront child page?

I keep reading one should not change code of the base theme, instead edit the child page. so I have the official storefront child theme installed.

where can I find the code for this page to edit it?

If I open a page and use right click -> inspect code (using Chrome browser) and then click customize.php that does open the entire code for storefront but it clearly indicates this is not the child theme because it says: “Note: Do not edit this file. If you wish to add your own CSS we strongly recommend creating your own child theme, or installing a custom CSS plugin.”

so how can I get to the code for the child theme?

Hi everyone

I’m new to WordPress.

I’m having trouble moving anything around on my homepage.

I’d like to move the logo up (temporary logo), the menu down a little, the slider up and the body up. I’d also like to change the footer so that if I add another widget, it goes to the right not underneath.

I’m also having no luck with editing the child theme, whatever changes I have seem to have no effect whatsoever. I like the idea of wordpress but because each theme is so different and edited
differently, I don’t really see how anyone can ever really use it. Sorry to moan, I’m just frustrated by the whole process.

I’d appreciate any help. Thanks.

Landscape Child Theme Editing

I’m a big newbie to this website stuff and learning as I go. I’ve created a child theme for the Landscape theme. I have never been successful at making an edit to the child theme. I’ve turned to plugins to make the changes I need, or have had to change the parent theme directly which I hate doing and totally defeats the purpose of having a child theme. However, now I am needing to change the color and font size of my footer and I can’t seem to make that change in the my child theme. I have copied and pasted the footer info from the parent theme’s stylesheet into my child theme and then made the edit I want and clicked Update and nothing happens!

Maybe I’m doing this all wrong so any help would be appreciated.

Reducing post title font size in child theme

Hi,

I would like to simply reduce the font size of my post titles in my 2013 child theme. The child theme was set up for me by someone else, so I’m not exactly sure how to edit it. I’m assuming I need to make changes in the CSS, but I’m not sure where or how to do it.

Referring to the theme demo layout, I’d like to swap the left sidebar and the slider on the homepage. To be more detailed – I’d like to hide the left sidebar on the home screen move the slider over to the left and display the right sidebar.

I started a child theme. What would be the proper way to do this using a child theme?
