How do I change which part of an image is visible on my page without losing resolution? For example, instead of this:
https://michaelm856.sg-host.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/IMG_1448.jpeg
I want to crop some part of the image so only part of it is visible.
By the same token, is there a way to change where the centre point of the image is?

I am looking for a way to crop or edit an image from within a page not doing this in the media library.
Thank you.

Is there a way to hide it through the functions? I looked around the options but i didn’t found something close or I might overlooked it.
I was considering hiding it through CSS but i wanted to see if hiding it through the component / functions was a better viable option
Thanks in advance.
]]>When I try to crop an image with the Editor Block > Crop tool in a post, doesn’t work.
When I try to make it, I get this message:
Could not edit image. Unable to edit this image.
This only happens in my localhost website, when I do the same in the public server, there is no problem.
On my computer I have XAMPP activated in C:\xampp\
I have no write or permission problems in my directory (when I edit an image manually, I don’t get any problems).
I don’t understand why this happens to me on the localhost.
I would like to solve this problem, because I need to test the web locally first before uploading it.
Thanks in advance.
]]>I’ve got two main questions:
1)
When editing an image (crop/rotate screen), the user can type in an aspect ratio and the “crop” selection on the image will have that fixed aspect ratio then. Now, I’d like to know if it is possible to have a predefined select-list of aspect ratios, so you don’t have to memorize website-relevant aspect ratios but can instead just pick one and it will automatically fill the values.
Is that a) configurable in WordPress or b) is there a hook available where I might write my select list in (plus some javascript)?
2)
When cropping and saving an image, WordPress will write a new file (new filename) and keep the old (original) one, but won’t show the original file in the media list). Is there a way to give the user the option: if he wants to overwrite the original image in the media list (current behavior) or duplicate the original image in the media list, so both the original image and the cropped image are their own thing in WordPress?
Thank you for your input!
