Customising Dashboard: Categories

I hope someone can help.

I have a site which utilises multiple categories; dozens of them.

My frustration is that adding/removing categories for any given post in the Edit Post page is very difficult because the add-category “module/window” is too small.
I have to scroll through dozens of categories and subcategories to find what I want to add or remove.

How do I make it larger?

Confine system messages to dashboard

Is there any way to confine non-post specific messages (or page or template as applies) to the dashboard? I have messages that rightly appear on the dashboard such as recommendations to clear cache, that the login page has been changed to a non-standard place, that plugin editing has not been disabled, etc. that also appear on the post edit page. The problem with this is that they eat up the screen space leaving very little room to actually write and edit a post. Is there somewhere to confine these types of message to admin on the dashboard?

Visual vs. Text Editor

Add introductory copy on the page I set for the posts page, twenty eleven theme

Is is possible to have a posts page with some type of explanatory/introductory copy? I have the blog page/posts page setup, but we’d like to have a paragraph or so of copy explaining what we are about and how our blog works, etc. that would appear before any of the posts show up.
So, the page layout would be:
Logo
Header image
Menu bar
Intro Copy this is what we’d like to add
New Posts
Footer

How to create an "EDIT POST" page?

Been looking around for a plugin that functions in a way that users can edit their posts via front-end. No luck till now. I’ve bump into the front-end editor plugin but it only works for admins and users with admin capabilities. I’ve also tried activating WP Users plugin but it gets me an error that Header is Not Valid. It’s too bad since this plugin had shortcodes ready to use.

Any help on this one?

multiple rich text editor in “edit post” page

Hi everybody,
I’d like to add some instances of a rich editor plugin, such as “TinyMCE” or “FCKEditor” , inside the “Edit Post” page (I mean additional editors, excluding the main post editor).
I need this editors in order to automatically insert some HTML inside the so called “custom fields”, since I’d like to avoid the manual insert of each tag.
I already tried with multiple calls to “the_editor($contenuto)”, ma it didn’t work at all.
I haven’t found anything usefull on Google till now, does anyone have any suggestion out there?

edit post page does not show all scheduled posts

In edit post page of wp 2.7 it shows that 15 posts are scheduled

the rop of the list suggests 1-15 on top page and 16-30 on page 2

BUT, only 7 show up in the list mode, I cannot see those scheduled for next week.

I click on page 2 and it skips past the missing schedule posts.

Custom write/edit post page removing some elements and adding others

Hello,

Is there any plugin or method that can be turned into a plugin to customize the write/edit post page?

Basically I need to filter out a lot of forms (all those in the excerpt, custom fields, etc. section ) remove the chage submitted date option, decide if to make a post private and so on…

I also would like to be able to add forms and applets (such as one to get google sat coordinates when clicking on a point on the map) that help the user.

Also, is there a way to change the title of certain sections? (Like title, categories, etc) I need to rename these with other words.
