Interestingly, another site of ours sent out a notification this morning without any issues, so it seems the problem is specific to this post.
Has anyone encountered this issue before? Any advice on how to prevent it from happening again would be greatly appreciated.

could you please split the “Disable All Updates” function so that only “Disable email notifications” can be selected separately?
Alternatively, add this about turning off individual email notifications separately in the Disable Components menu?
Because now I still use a separate WPFrom Email plugin for this function of turning off email notifications: https://sk.www.ads-software.com/plugins/wpfrom-email/ And there I have the following options selected:
