I’m using Windows so have been pressing the Windows key and the . key to open the Emjoi panel.

There are some emjois not on that panel that I would like to insert.

I’ve seen them on other WordPress sites and when looking at where they are hosted, they seem to be on the www.ads-software.com site.

Here are some examples of the ones I would like to use:

Does anyone know how to insert them via the emoji panel? Or should I just insert them as regular images?

Is there a way to see all of the available emojis? Those hosted by www.ads-software.com?

Just a suggestion for further improvement of this plugin – currently it’s only possible to like or dislike, however, it would be great to add the option of different emoticons like other apps do. For example hovering over the like gives options for different laugh, smiley, frown, etc.

This has been requested by some users, so just passing that along.

I recently updated to wordpress 5.5 and noticed the typed/text based emojis’ weren’t displaying on the bbpress/forum replies. Long story short after doing a search online which advised me to check the “writing settings” and look for the “formatting section” to see if the “convert emotiicons like and to graphics on display” is checked. Upon checking i found the writing settings isn’t even displaying the formatting option.

The website is over a year old and never had this problem before until i upgrade to 5.5. It could also be a bug, idk. When i downgraded to wordpress 5.4.2 the emojis are displaying now.

Any help in how to make emojis visible in 5.5 is deeply appreciated. Thanks

thank you for this plugin. Since WP 5.4.2 the plugin doesn’t work anymore. If I open editor and chose the emoji, it’s just loading only the icon but it will not include to my text.

Has somebody a solution for this problem?

The only solution was to dive into the database and manually edit the data there (which is not recommended).
Since then, Yoast never bothered to do much about this. It works on most pages, and a few posts (not sure why it doesn’t just always work) and there is zero documentation about this from Yoast.
However, if you try to use the “Taxonomy” tab in the plugin itself (which is very handy if you wanna standardize the description on pages, posts, categories etc), the emoticons don’t work anymore.

Enter emoticons as icon, as HTML entities, or hexadecimal entities or whatever. It just doesn’t work.

So, somehow they managed to make something work (kinda-ish) on a few pages (but not all), and totally make it NOT work on other pages. Why?
Why not simply support it, and/or add a bit of documentation about what works and what doesn’t.

For the record, I tried the test with standard emoticons (smiley face) and some more rare emoticons (parcel box). No difference.

But when I hit send, it’s all broken. For some reason, the link gets distorted.
For example, instead of this in the image source:

Is this normal? Most users now use phones and use emoticons when writing texts.
