If I click the sitemap-misc.xml the browser shows a blank page. If I Click the page-sitemap.xml link it shows a 404 page.

Same thing happens if I try to access the sitemap via Google Search Console.

Any help appreciated.

Currently using V 4.1.16

For Rank Math, when i check site map – it shows that site map was generated by Yoast SEO … ok, probably, based on “configuratino i did using Rank Math configuratin wizard”.
So, i have deleted Yoast plugin.

After i did that:
– site map is empty
– why Rank math can not generate site map on itself?
– does it depend on Yoast?

So i remove Rank Math and i installed again – same issue – site mpa is empty …

Please, let me know:
– how to force Rank Math to generate proper site map?

Is there a way to make yoast not show empty sitemaps like post-sitemap.xml (in my case) in sitemap_index.xml?

I am having a problem with my sitemap. It was working days ago and suddenly showing empty and wrong format.

Troubleshooting so far:

1. Deactivated all plugins – Negative
2. Clear site and external cache (cloudflare) – Negative
3. Reinstall wordpress – Negative
4. Resubmit Sitemap – Negative.

I do not know what’s left to be done. Kindly help as my index pages are dropping drastically.

I’m having some trouble with a blank sitemap and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction please! The link is https://thehappykamper.com/sitemap_index.xml but the page appears blank (as does the source).

Google Search Console gives me the error: Your Sitemap does not contain any URLs. Please validate and resubmit your Sitemap.

I’m using the latest version of the Yoast SEO Plugin.

From reading around, I’ve tried:
– clearing the cache
– resubmitting my sitemap to google console
– disabling a security plug in
but none of these things helped – no change.

I’d appreciate any advice please!

I made no changes since many monthes except for WP version upgrade.

Is someone having the same problem or somebody can give my any advice to fix the error?

The HTML output of the sitemap index seems fine and viewing the XML looks fine too (on quick glance).

Bing Webmaster tools has no problem with the sitemap index file (which I resubmitted just to be sure).

Google is just not playing nice. Been banging my head for a few hours on this now.

It would be best not to generate a sitemap file if there is nothing to put into it.
