]]>I was checking my page speed etc.. within https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights
& I got a bad red marker telling me to “Enable compression for the following resources to reduce their transfer size by 175.1KiB (69% reduction)”
Plus on the mobile site I got:
Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content
Your page has 6 blocking script resources and 4 blocking CSS resources. This causes a delay in rendering your page.
&
Leverage browser caching
Setting an expiry date or a maximum age in the HTTP headers for static resources instructs the browser to load previously downloaded resources from local disk rather than over the network.
I’ve been building websites for years but for my own marketing/affiliate reasons really. Now I am getting more & more into building for others & want to make sure everything is Google friendly
Could anyone advise how I do this from within my wordpress control panel ?
Thankyou very much for you help in advance,
Richard
]]>I used W3 before and when I use it propperly (as a beginner) I can get a score of around 80% on the pagespeed insights test.
Now I got this woocommerce site https://wwww.dekoffiebob.nl and I setup W3 as I always do and now I can’t score higher than 25%?!
It says I need to ‘enable compression’ and ‘Minify JavaScirpt’. And in other cases it also says this but it’s code ‘orange’ and now it’s ‘red’.
I can’t understand what I’m doing wrong.
Please help me

]]>Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content,
Your page has 6 blocking script resources and 9 blocking CSS resources. This causes a delay in rendering your page.
? Remove render-blocking JavaScript:
? Use asynchronous versions
? Optimize CSS Delivery
Leverage browser caching
Setting an expiry date or a maximum age in the HTTP headers for static resources instructs the browser to load previously downloaded resources from local disk rather than over the network.
? Leverage browser caching
Enable compression
Compressing resources with gzip or deflate can reduce the number of bytes sent over the network.
? Enable compression
Prioritize visible content
Your page requires additional network round trips to render the above-the-fold content. For best performance, reduce the amount of HTML needed to render above-the-fold content.
? 28.5KiB of the response was required to render the above-the-fold content. Prioritize visible content that is needed for rendering above-the-fold.
