I’m building a new wordpress blog and I want to emulate Engadget’s blogroll layout.

What’s the best theme to start with to tweak?

What i’m trying to do is something like engadget website
did in the sidebar with he widgets “breaking news” and “Features”.
In the “breaking news” is a widget which shows only posts tagged as “breaking news”

Hi there,

What i’m trying to do is something like engadget website
did in the sidebar with he widgets “breaking news” and “Features”.
In the “breaking news” its categorized through TAGs but the thing is how do i do that including the photo?
I was thinking to do a normal post and them use a blogroll which i can add my links with photos and so i think it would work……

But the thing is in my website i have in this bar 2 widgets 1 recent post
2 links(blogroll)
in blogroll i have 2 categories..
2.1 PARTNERSHIP LINKS
2.2 MENU

and i want this “breaking news” to be the first widget then, recent posts and the blogroll to be the very last widget because them i will insert a ad between them.

I am looking for a clean 3-column theme that is similar to used by engadget.com. I have seen themes that are based on Kubrick that are sort of like engadget, but not exactly. (yes, I know engadget is not a WP blog). Anyone have any ideas? I checked themes.wordpress.net but nothing comes close.

Email Comment Authentication plug

I tried searching the forum but couldn’t find anything on this …

Have people had success running the email comment authentication plug in from skippy? (https://skippy.net/download/plugins/commentauth/) I’m guessing it functions pretty much the same as engadget’s email comment system.

Does it work with the latest version of WP?
Any known issues, problems or tips or tricks to get it to work?

Any insights appreciated.
