I think I understand I need to download WordPress to do this but have now come up with the issue of the Host.
Long story short – am I able to download a host, then wordpress and be able to use/change the website I already have?
]]>I want to integrate a WordPress blog into my existing website. My Existing website is a simple, one page website made with PHP, CSS, and JavaScript. I would like to add a blog page that would be built and managed using WordPress.
I have installed WordPress on my computer.
If it helps, this is the current file structure of my application…
Assets
css
–style.css
images
–…
javascript
–script.js
blog (folder)
index.php
What is the best way to go about doing this? Should I build the blog page separately then move the files into the blog directory?
Feel free to “dumb it down” so-to-speak. I am a developer but new to WordPress.

Kindest,

Now I want to update it, and I want to do it on my Macbook in stead of the PC I used making it.
What do I do?
Kindest regards,
Bard Thomas
I’m working for a yearly event organization and the staff asked me to make a website with different subdomains. I’m going to work on the second year so I have to put the last year’s website in a third level domain such as “2015.bitumephotofest.it”, and make a new one such as “2016.bitumephotofest.it” for the upcoming edition.
The current website is in a subfolder.
I’m considering to create a multisite network but it is difficult to me to understand if it is convenient or not. Maybe there are easier way to achieve what I need.
Should I install a multisite network in root and then “link” it to the subfolder that I have?
Should I turn my subfolder in a multisite? How to make the upcoming edition subfolder then?
I’m a bit confused.
Does anyone know how should I do?
Thank you in advance!
]]>The requested URL /blog/wp-admin/install.php was not found on this server.
How to fix this?
]]>The information here has been great, but for some reason I just can’t get my head around how to plan our installation. Ultimately, I want to:
1. Install into a hidden area of our web server (using instruction https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Test_Driving_WordPress#Hiding_Your_WordPress_Test_Area)
2. Find and use a responsive theme, configure it, etc using all the wonderful information provided here on www.ads-software.com.
3. Replace pages one at a time on our existing html website.
Questions:
A) Am I creating this hidden directory off the root, or off publichtml folder? Seems I’ve read both??
B) If the install is in a hidden folder, is my plan to replace each page of our existing website dead on arrival?
C) If I’m creating a subdirectory (mywebsite.com/wordpress) for installation, when I want to replace a page (mywebsite.com/story.html) would that url then change to the sub (mywebsite.com/wordpress/story.php)?
I think I’m just being hard headed and not seeing something obvious as a newby here, so any input is greatly appreciated.
Dave
]]>We are looking into utilising your plugin for migrating the media for an existing multisite website to Amazon S3.
I am currently trialing this on a smaller DEV copy of the website, but have run into a few issues, hopefully this is just a simple misconfiguration.
The first issue is that we can’t find a way to simply upload all of the existing images onto S3, it looks like this would need to be done on a per-sub-site basis, is this the only way? This would be far too time consuming for a website with 200+ sub-sites.
Secondly, when we use the ‘move media to cloud’ function on a single sub-site, it doesn’t seem to move the images to S3 or update the image links correctly. It is creating .dat files in a folder on S3 and the link is updated to something like: /home/username/public_html/dev/wp-content/uploads/sites/7/$wblob//image-name.jpg What are we doing wrong here?
Thanks,
Peter

]]>I want to remake my company’s website. Right now it’s a horrible flash site, so I want to make a new one using www.ads-software.com.
What I want to do is build the new site, but keep the old one live while I work on the new one. I’m new, so it will take me a while.
How do I work on a wordpress site, without overriding the old flash site files?
