Hi there guys,

Installed this plugin for the purpose of sorting through the many cpt I have at the back end – since the default WP search function does not work most of the time with my ‘Listings’ cpt.
However, I don’t see any difference after installation and setting up. I don’t see an additional search function on my ‘All Listings’ screen in Admin.

Is this for the front-end? If yes, I won’t need it!

Hi,
I installed your plugin on a site with Easy Digital Downloads and around 4000 products.
My goal was to have a research working within the product tags and categories.

Unfortunately that’s not always working. With some search keys the research works, with other it doesn’t.

What could be the causes of that? The size of the database (4000 products aren’t few, I know)? Or could it be something else?

How can I modify the search form in order to be able to search only in the beginning of every term? I have installed Extended Search to modify it in order to search only in post titles but when I enter for example a series of characters it searches for the characters in every position of the words whereas I would like it to search only in the beginning.

Hi,
I’m looking for an extra search box for the backend, indepentely form the search engine in the frontend. Also it must search in custom fields. We use Extended Search plugin because of the broader possibilities. But it gets too slow if we let it search on the specific fields we use in the backend. So we would lik to have a fast search for the frontend, and at the same time a specific search engine for the backend.

Multiple instances of Extended search would be a solution, but this is too difficult. We are looking for a more simple solution.

Hi! I’m trying to use your plugin for something a bit more complicated than it was originally built for. I installed the entire plugin and it works beautifully, then I realized that it might not do this one very important thing. :-/!

Essentially, I’m creating a directory of translators. So they need to be able to list up to 7 language combinations that they are certified in, and the search function must search all 7 combinations and find those that are EXACT MATCHES to what’s been searched for.

In other words, if I search for English > Spanish, even if a translator has listed that as their 4th combination, it should come up. I should NOT find a translator who has listed Spanish > English.

Is there any way to do this with the existing plugin? Or is your team at all available to be hired to add extensions for specific projects?

Search in Tags, return also posts with words in title and content

Hello,

I have set the plugin to only search tags(checked in settings), without searching in title and content(unchecked in settings).

Next to this i set it to only show posts. And the Terms Relation Type is set on “AND”

But when i do a search for a tag, the results show also title and content results.

I want it to only show the posts with the searchword in the tag.

Is this a bug in the plugin or am I setting it up wrong

Custom Fields in Post search

What I needed, I think, could be done using Custom fields. So, you create the custom fields, let’s say Name, Height, Weight, etc. and when you enter some value in them, it shows in the post (like CUSTOMFIELD: VALUE, e.g. but I would like to be able to customise it with different fonts, styles, etc) and a search form that could search with MIN and MAX values: e.g. you have an entry for WEIGHT 50kg. and in the search form, someone selects 46-53kg. so this post must show.

Seeking an advanced search interface

I am looking for something that seems relatively simple but may not be and which I have been unable to find in any plug-in.

I want be able to extend WordPress’s standard search widget, to provide users with a more developed interface to search posts (I am using posts as product pages with eShop). Specifically, I want to have users search by select a manufacturer from a dropdown list, add a product name in a further search field, and a product number in another field again. The search is to be a simple AND of these three terms which are all simple text strings within posts – so the search is the same as that performed by WordPress, but it will make everything more user friendly and focussed for the user.

Using a search based on categories is a problem as there are a large number of product numbers. A search based on custom fields would become unwieldly again because a given product can have several product numbers associated with it.

It might be possible to take the data inputted from such a form and use code to input it into the existing wordpress search function. As someone new to that level of coding, I am not sure how to go about it.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. If you know of a plugin that will do the trick that would be great.
