How can I redirect this external domain to my WordPress site?
What code do I need to use under each category especially “server” and “matched target” because it’s not working right now?
I think I did host my blog (previous domain simplybeeyou.com) on www.ads-software.com. I now had to change domains (new one: sabrinapatricia.com) also I am using Strato as a domain provider – but now I cannot logon to wordpress anymore (thus created this new account). And I am afraid that all my content is gone!
What is there to do? Can someone please, please, pleeease help me?
Thanks
Sabrina
Im relatively new to wordpress so apologies if I’m confusing how this works but im looking to setup a network of sites on external domains.
But ideally i’d like to manage them through one main site…both products and orders as the products are all related and orders needs to be logged together.
So i would like
www.subsite.com to show the subsite at www.mainsite.com/subsite
However when i’ve set it all up it seems to work in reverse….when i visit www.mainsite.com/subsite it redirects me to www.subsite.com which shows as the completely sepperate installation.
Is what im after even possible or have i just set it up wrong….im assuming to get this to work would require some sort of DNS change at the subsite’s main domain so it points to the subsite installation in some way.
Some of the guides mention cPanel which i havent got access to.
Thanks in advance
]]>Domains for opencart and for WP are different, so, strictly speaking, images are not in WP’s subdomain, but with multisite it must work with any domain, otherwise it doesn’t make sense.
I saw https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/subdomain-images-not-working-on-multi-user-subdomains/page/2/ but it is 5 years old topic and I don’t know which advises from there would work.
]]>The setup is a sub-directory setup, and all the domains I am going to talk about are on the same dedicated IP on bluehost VPS.
my original site is: ” originalsite.com “
and through WP multisite I created: ” newsite.originalsite.com “
and I am trying to map “newsite.originalsite.com” to “newsite.com” which I already registered.
originalsite.com has a wildcard ssl (for subdomains), so that when I am in the admin dashboard of newsite.originalsite.com everything renders properly.
newsite.com has a regular ssl so that the “https://” works with newsite.originalsite.com, (because I force https:// on everything)
now for the main issue: since the originalsite and newsite are both on the same bluehost account and IP, do I have to park newsite.com or add-on newsite.com to the originalsite?
I’ve heard both from bluehost, which doesn’t really support questions regarding multisite.
the issue with the parked domain is that sometimes newsite pulls up originalsite’s SSL, and then through WHM I reinstall the SSL on newsite and then the originalsite picks up the newsite SSL. they each need to use their respective SSLs.
and I’ve had the toughest time understanding A host record. everywhere it says “direct the A host record to point to the originalsite IP” but it never says what the A host record hostname should be!
originalsite IP: 11.22.33.44
newsite A host record: Host Record: @ TTL: 14400 Points to: 11.22.33.44 (since they are on the same server)
and for newsite CNAME (Alias): Host Record: www TTL: 14400 Points to: newsite.com
Does this all look alright? Basically I don’t think I have a specific question, this entire post is a big question mark. So, Please Help!

]]>Example:
I am running wordpress on domain www.main-website.com.
Now I would like to create a landing page within that wordpress installation >> i.e. www.main-website.com/landing-page.
BUT I want to use another domain to point to that page >> www.great-product.com directs to www.main-website.com/landing-page.
To prevent duplicate content I would like www.main-website.com/landing-page to be indexed via www.great-product.com instead of www.main-website.com/landing-page.
Other pages of www.main-website.com should however be indexed normal.
Any idea how to do this or a nice alternative?
Thanks,
Flowrian
