I’m trying to decide whether to use/purchase this plugin but I have run into a very significant issue with the free version:
If I enable file protection for a file, and then I unprotect the file, the URL of my file is now incorrect, and has gained an additional slash:
BEFORE PROTECTION, WHEN COPYING URL TO CLIPBOARD:
https://mywebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/myfile.pdf
WHILE PROTECTED:
https://mywebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/_pda/myfile.pdf
AFTER REMOVING PROTECTION:
https://mywebsite.com/wp-content/uploads//myfile.pdf
The extra slash does not appear for any other files in the media library–only for those that have had file protection enabled and then removed.
I cannot re-enable file protection at this point, because then I get a “file does not exist” error.
I’ve tried it in two different WordPress installations and it happened with both.
This plugin looks like a great solution for me, but not if it causes file structure errors.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
]]>When I want a page/post to link to an external URL I enter, for example:
https://www.example.com
Then when I click that page/post I get forwarded to:
https://www.example.com/
Strangely, this trailing slash causes some websites to not display correctly (messed-up design).
Does anyone know how to prevent the plugin to add that extra slash?
PS: I’m using the most recent version of the plugin (2.7.1).

Which file or setting do I edit to fix this?
Thanks!!
I have wordpress installed in a subdirectory of my site as the I have a php script installed for the main site. So, I need to keep it separate from the root directory.
The problem I get is when I click on the link it tries this url:
www.mysite.com/wp/index.php/?p=21
As you can see an extra ‘/’ is appearing in the url after the index.php
My site url in the wp Options is set to :
www.mysite.com/wp/index.php
Because otherwise, www.mysite.com/wp yields me a display of no pages. I have to include the ‘index.php’
Any help on this would be highly appreciated…
Thx!
]]>I’ve got a very strange problem that I researched but couldn’t find an answer to that was on point or current.
Since upgrading to 2.3.3 I just noticed that the link to my posts (not pages or any other links) are adding an extra / in the middle, i.e.:
https://weprobateflorida.com//buying-or-selling-probate-property-in-florida/
Notice the extra / after the main url.
Anyone out there to help?
Thanks!
]]>I’m basically having the exact same problem as outlined in this unanswered post:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/60478?replies=1
Namely: I have a calendar installed on my sidebar (the calendar that came with “Sidebar Widgets” by Automattic) that adds a trailing “/” (without quotes) to the end of the calendar day permalinks, and clicking any calendar day sends you to a 403 page. Without the trailing “/” the page loads just fine.
I tried the solution found in this topic:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/72589?replies=3
but it did no good as the line that was adjusted doesnt even exist in my templates-functions-links.php file!
My version of WordPress is current (I just updated everything two days ago). The only thing that is broken is the calendar links, which inexplicably adds that trailing “/” to the end of the permalink. On my search for the answer, I’ve seen that a good number of people have the same issue, but as far as these boards go either the posts received no replies or there were no solutions that fit me.
The URI for my site is:
https://www.sithly.com/meetme/omgwtf/
There is an extremely NSFW photograph on the main page. It’s not a porn site or anything even remotely resembling it, but if an unabashedly naked close-up photo of a penis (it’s an artistic nude shot) is something that would get you fired, then you’d probably not scroll down too far if you visit my page while youre at work. You can click the link though; the photograph is pretty far down on the main page on the 27 December 2006 post.
If anyone can help me with this calendar permalink issue, I would very much appreciate it! Please let me know if you need more info.
Thanks kindly.
