]]>I have been encountering an issue with links in my Facebook post descriptions that should lead to my website but instead result in a black page. When users click the link, two buttons appear asking them if they want to continue to my website or return to Facebook. However, the button to continue to my website does not work, and nothing happens when clicked. The “back to Facebook” button works fine.
Upon using the Facebook Sharing Debugger tool (https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/), I found the following warning: “Missing Properties The following required properties are missing: fb:app_id”
I then followed your article on how to request the ID and key, which I entered in the RankMath dashboard under –> Social Meta –> Facebook App and Facebook Secret, but the error message persists.
Attempts I’ve made to resolve the issue:
- Adjusted CSP header rule
- Disabled the security plugin
- Cleared the cache after each attempt
- Checked all blocked IPs to ensure no Facebook range is mistakenly included
- Disabled custom code, etc.
It is worth mentioning that the faulty URLs in the posts, which do not lead to my website, are from paid ads and from ads that appear to my followers in their feeds, rather than the ones found on my fan page. The original links on my fan page work fine. Only URLs from these paid ads + feed ads/posts lead to the black page with the two buttons, with the one meant to take users to my website not working.
Do you have any idea why the app ID isn’t being recognized, even though the Scraped URL report detects the code (<meta property=”fb:app_id” content=”12345678912345″>)?

- Plugin Installation and Setup: We installed and set up the official Facebook for WooCommerce plugin. All settings were configured correctly according to Facebook’s guidelines.
- Pixel Verification: We verified that the Facebook Pixel was installed correctly on the website. Other events, such as Page View and Add to Cart, are being tracked properly.
- Testing Events: We have used the Facebook Pixel Helper and Meta’s Event Testing tool to confirm the tracking. These tools show that the Purchase event is not being triggered, while other events are working without issues.
- Debugging Attempts: We have checked WooCommerce settings, confirmed plugin configurations, and even deactivated/reactivated the plugin. None of these steps resolved the issue.
- Final Observations: The plugin does not seem to be sending the Purchase event at all. It’s missing entirely from the events tracked on Facebook.
Would anyone have any insights into why the Purchase event might not be triggering? Are there any additional steps we can take to ensure this event is being sent from WooCommerce to Facebook?

I have linked our account to Facebook multiple times. I get the the “You’re all set!” pop up but as soon as I get redirected to my website account I get the following notification “Heads up!?It looks like there was a problem with reconnecting your site to Facebook.”
Please assist. This is getting very frustrating and would really appreciate it if it can be resolved.

I had this plugin before but had to delete it and start again as I had a bunch of unrelated accounts within by meta businesses suite.
Now in meta business suite all I have is a business portfolio with two business assets. The assets are a facebook and an instagram page.
