Unable to install new plugins – “An unexpected error occurred”

When I try to search for new plugins, if I include a space in my search term, I get this error:

“An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.ads-software.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the?support forums.”

If I search for a single word without a space, I can find plugins as normal but when I try to install it, I get this error:

“Installation failed: An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.ads-software.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the?support forums.”

I have the latest version of WordPress (6.4.3) and I manually upgraded to PHP 8.2, because one of the plugins I was using required 8.1 or higher.

The most recent thing I did in the past 24 hours was delete a plugin that refused to delete from inside the WordPress backend, from my hosting control panel from the wp-content –> plugins folder, and deleted another plugin that I didn’t even know I had (it was in a folder called mu-plugin in my hosting control panel).

I can activate plugins that are already installed but I cannot search for or install new ones.

I’ve been working on building my new business site with Elementor and Astra this week. Everything was going fine but now have run into a significant problem. My WordPress won’t update (keep getting a notification that the automated WordPress update has failed to complete), my current plugins won’t update, and when I try to add new plug ins they fail as well. Don’t know where to go from here and my tech knowledge is low, so if you have ideas, be nice and clear.

I was just about to install Jetpack but I get this error message in the plugin dashboard of my website:

Installation failed: Could not copy file. jetpack/images/recommendations/assistant-antispam-2x.png

Is there a solution?
I can install other plugins without problems

When I try to install the yoast seo plugin it says (Installation failed: Destination folder already exists). But the plugin was not installed previously and is not installed presently

It broke my site.
Worked around that and deleted the plugin. It removed my front page as well.
A free plugin, that is worth every cent.

Hi there,

I want to create a form using WP Forms (which I had as a plugin previously), however it’s no longer in my active Plugin’s section.

Today I’ve tried to install the plug-in (again) and an error message came up with:
Installation failed: Destination folder already exists. this makes me think the plugin has been corrupted somewhere down the line.

How do I uninstall this (as I can’t see it in my Plugin section or anywhere in the WordPress admin area) and then re-install successfully.

Any help is appreciated.

How to Re-Install W3 Total Cache

Hi I accidentally uninstalled and deleted the plugin but I want to put it back. But when I try now I get a repeated Installation Failed error message. I’m also getting this message on the top of my dashboard:

NextGen Gallery deactivated after update, no longer in plugin list

All of my galleries on https://palde.org/photos-videos/ are no longer visible. It looks like this error occurred after updating to NextGEN Gallery 3.2.2 from 3.1.17 on 5/27/2019.

I noticed this error on the plugin page: The plugin nextgen-gallery/nggallery.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.

I tried to reinstall the plugin through the WordPress interface, but installation fails. I receive this message: Installation failed: Destination folder already exists.

Installation Activated but no Set Up page

I installed the LifterLMS core plugin (free) and it shows up in the list of installed plugins but no LifterLMS options show up in the dashboard. I never received a Set up screen after activating the plugin.

I’m running the latest version of WordPress 5.1.1. and Twenty Nineteen theme. When I look at the “View Details” of the LifterLMS Labs plugin it says LifterLMS only supports up to 4.9.10 of WordPress. Is this my problem? If not, how do I get to a Set Up option? Should I uninstall and reinstall?

Hello Internet,
I am Hoster of a podcast.
Ca. two weeks ago (i had a pretty full schedule and no chance to tackle this earlier), our website just completely… broke.

Since my Hosting knowledge is very limited, i really don’t know how to describe it more precisely. Neither the start page nor the /wp-admin backend are reachable, and our hosting company (strato.com) couldn’t help us because, as they said, the problem lays inside our WordPress installation, to which they obviously have no insight.

website is www.projektpinoekel.com and whenever you try to open it, all you get is a extremely strange block of text, that does not provide me any enlightenment.

Some things that may help:

We are using the “Podlove” Podcasting plugin for WordPress (which on other podcasts i host still works perfectly fine and whose support also assured me that the Plugin is not the thing causing the problem)
we haven’t made any recent changes to our website before it just randomly blacked out
the feed that is submitted to the apple podcastconnect-service seems broken too, since errors are shown there.

I hope my english is somehow understandable and that somebody might help me/us really soon since we’d love to release new episodes asap.
I am very glad for any advice, since recreating the entire page would really be a pain in the a**.
