I’m trying to add an FB plugin to a friend’s blog and when I log into her FB account to create the app, it is giving me all kinds of problems. I need a step by step tutorial of how to set up an app, just for an FB connect plug in to WP. Please Help!

I went and edited my comments PHP file as described in the FAQs, but that didn’t help. It didn’t make sense to me, anyway, putting in ‘< and ‘> marks — aren’t those HTML things and not PHP?

Looking for the right Facebook Connect plugin

I know there’s a bunch of Facebook Connect plugins for WP, but I need to focus on something a bit more specific. So I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

The type of plugin I’m looking for makes it where certain pages and/or posts on a WP site are unavailable unless the user logs in using FB Connect. That or they must like our FB profile. Either one.

What FB Connect plugins do this? Any?

hey guys anybody help, basically i installed simple facebook connect by otto – works great

But —-
ive now installed bbpress and have the login widget box in the sidebar so my any members can stay front side, the fb connect still works on the back end pages but i also want it on this login widget box for a faster login process

anybody have experiance with this an know a fix

I’m trying to get the FB signin to work, but get this error when I click on the fb icon in the signup box:

API Error Code: 191
API Error Description: The specified URL is not owned by the application
Error Message: redirect_uri is not owned by the application.

In my previous post the button could not be seen.

The button is visible but I cannot register or connect using FB Connect.
If i login manually it does recognize the link though.

If a user clicks on FB connect the page just refreshed and the have to manually register.

Did I miss something ?

I removed my FB Connect widget thinking it was conflicting with the login form. I cannot see the button. It just says FB connect.

Anyone know how to disable this plugin’s default placement along the Buddypress login area.

The readme file with the plugin tells you how to manually place it *elsewhere*, but not how to get rid of the original autogenerated one. Meaning that if you use the code to place it elsewhere you’ll now have two FB login buttons.
