I know this can be done if direct image links are used in the post, but not when its a plugin album like this?

Pro is fairly expensive but I would probably still buy it but having a thumbnail images is very important for me.

In a lot of articles on our blog there are no “featured images”. The point is that all articles have at least one picture inside, so we didn’t setup a “featured” image. On the Twenty-Ten template, no problem.
Now we are moving the (WP hosted) blog to a dedicated server and want to change the template. And the one we like uses featured images for each article, on the home page.

Is there a way to batch setup the “featured” image of every article by using the first that is displayed in the article, either during the import (through the build in WP importer using XML files), or at least after the import?

We found some plugins that claim to do this, but they do not work during the import process, nor allow to do this after the article is in the base. (Probably it will work for new articles but it is another point…)

Or is there a way in the database directly, without breaking all?

As we have a few thousands of articles, a manual work is not an option

This is an excellent plugin after trying a bunch of other sharing plugins. However, it is missing an important feature, it DOES NOT attach the thumbanil/featured image of the post. Is there any possibility that one can do that with this plugin, or is there any plans to add this feature in future.
