I had got an issue with a plugin called Monitization (with its file existing in wp-content/plugins/ as monit.php). WordPress detected that the plugin file had unexpected EOF and I went on to check it and saw that:
? On my dev instance, the file had a certain amount of code missing from around line 38
? On my live instance, the file had a certain amount of code missing from line 316
I had to disable the plugin in order for the site to come back up again, but would like to know how important this file is and what is its purpose? Why would it get corrupted everywhere suddenly?
FYI:
? No updates were performed to WP or the theme we are using
? Child theme with working custom code exists on both local and live (which doesn’t have any interference with this file)
Thanks. Appreciate a quick response.
]]>I’ve got Comments working on one page only, the About Me page. All other pages have no ability to leave Comments on a page, yet all pages have the Comments section (Add a comment) in the Edit mode.
Discussion settings the same for all pages, including the one page with a working Comments section.
Why one page has ability to display/receive Comments and not the other pages when all pages have the same settings is really confusing.
I had the wp-customer-review plugin installed but removed that plugin so visitors could Comment instead of leaving a Review. But alas, no Comments appear.
Perplexing.
