On the sidebar of my website https://www.ClaudioAdrianoDobre.com there is a widget-box named “Follow” where people who find interesting the topics that I write can insert their email to be automatically notified via email when I write a new article (I don’t have to do anything to notify them, they receive an email automatically from WordPress every time I write a new article). On the bottom-right corner of your screen, while on my website, there is also a “(+) Follow” button which does the same thing.
In time I noticed that these two functions are not very efficient because many people who take the time to write me to tell me they find my articles interesting, they do not join the list of followers by themselves before writing me, but if after thanking them for their interest I also explicitly tell them that if they want they can put their email in that box to be notified when I write something new, then they put their email joining the list of followers.
So I would like to implement a more efficient way to make people understand they can put their email to follow my website and be automatically notified when I write a new article. Essentially, I want to install another plugin that has the same purpose but that is more “active” because both the “Follow” box and the “(+) Follow” button are too passive.
I think a very efficient plugin would be a small window that pops up when the user is about to leave from the website by moving its mouse over the [x] button on the upper-right corner of the browser, which contains the same email field and a small text that I can write to invite the user to insert its email to become follower.
I have looked on the plugin database but I was unable to find anything like this, though I think there must be a free plugin that does this available around. Can You please point me to a free plugin that does what I described above?
I thank You for your kind attention and interest in helping

In our case, we named the subscription page for the plugin “subscribe” (as proposed by the plugin). Thus, the URL of our subscription page is: https://www.diedenker.org/subscribe/
There you find the “subscribe” and “unsubscribe” option of the plugin. So we simply included the URL https://www.diedenker.org/subscribe/ in our Follow-Plugin-Temmplate (and additionally a short text indicating users that they can unsubscribe using this link).
Good luck!
* After activating the plugin, you’re instructed to create a WordPress page, called for example “subscribe”, and include the parameter [subscribe2] there in the text field. In the plugin’s “settings” then you have to select the created page (via the drop down in the setting’s top section under “Appearance”).

]]>I have a blog on wordpress.com and I am an admistrator for this site https://ukrcommunity.ca/. I was trying to istall Follow Plugin and got the following message:
Installing Plugin: Follow 10.0.6
Downloading install package from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/follow.10.0.6.zip…
Unpacking the package…
Installing the plugin…
Destination folder already exists. /home/a7705457/public_html/wp-content/plugins/follow/
Plugin install failed.
Than I looked up resolved threads and saw another plugin, Subscribe2. I tried to install it and got this message:
You appear to be sending notifications from an email address from a different domain name to your blog, this may result in failed emails.
Can someone walk me through it, please?
]]>This is a great plugin and i firstly wished to thanks the author for it.
That said, i’ve not found any other way to translate the “Follow” button at the bottom of the site than rewriting “follow.php” core files.
This is bad because if the plugin has to be updated than all changes will be overwritten.
Also, when trying to create proper .mo and .po translation files from the “follow.pot” source file (that’s included with this plugin btw), i get multiple text domains.
It appears that this plugin uses copied content from ‘subscribe2’ plugin. So when i try to translate from “follow.pot” it doesn’t get to properly translate all the content.
Moreover, the “Follow” button content is located in the #bit div (line 8543 to 8583) in “follow.php”. Not included into any __() or _e() php functions.
.mo and .po files can’t even translate anything there.
So here come some questions i’ve in mind:
– Is it possible to replace all ‘subscribe2’ (and ‘subscribe’) strings by ‘follow’ to get one and only .po file ?
– Could we add __() or _e() php functions in that #bit div so that the “Follow” button content can get properly translated by translation tools ?
Thx for your time
PS: i know there are already some translation threads for this plugin, but couldn’t find any satisfying answer.

Places to FOLLOW are listed below, but what option leads to what in back office?
1.) JETPACK BLOG SUBSCRIPTION WIDGET Box is in right side bar of website: SUBSCRIBE to blog by email. (I tried adding my second and third email address (heatherlouiemac), but did NOT receive a confirmation, nor do I see that email address in the back office.)
2.) FOLLOW BUTTON at bottom right of website. That works, EXCEPT the reader gets error message when I enter an address:
ERROR: “This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it? It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching, or one of the links below, can help.”
3.) LEAVE A REPLY box after each post, where reader can reply and click box to receive new post notifications by email. (FOLLOW MY BLOG POST). These people are not necessarily subscribers? Just followers of one post?
SO WHEN I TRY TO SEE HOW MANY SUBSCRIBERS
1.) USERS> 4 = I have 2 Admin (correct) and 2 subscribers.
2.) FOLLOW PLUGIN. In back office, left panel, it lists 11 SUBSCRIBERS, which includes the 4 USERS (Subscribers and Admins in #1 above), plus others.
3.) Under SETTINGS > FOLLOW MY BLOG POST: It lists USERS of each post…
4.) UNDER JETPACK > SITE STATS > SUBSCRIPTIONS > FOLLOWERS, there are 11 different followers than in #2 above.
What do I need to do to make sure:
1.) JETPACK BLOG SUBSCRIPTION WIDGET is working, both in adding new subscribers, and sending them a confirmation email.
2.) To get all subscribers in one place
