The problem is that the return arrow on a book mark entry in the core bookmark block does not show up in Safari.
It does show in Chrome
The character is there if I inspect in Safari, it just does not show, so I’m suspecting that the problem is some kind of charter encoding incompatibility with Safari, but way past my pay grade to figure what.
A clue to the problem might be that if I actually type the same character into the post, it displays fine in Safari, the problem only manifests when the character is output by the 2024 theme.
The below test page shows this behaviour and this is a test site with a clean install and no plugins, running 2024.
This also seems to be 2024 specific in that I tried 2023 and it works fine.
I hope someone can help.

additionally, when I try to edit the post using footnote “”There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”” occurs on few pages where a footnote is used.

]]>After adding a few footnotes, the footnotes disappeared and showed “This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed.”
Then we attempted to remove the footnote completely and gave a save draft and see the preview but it is not removed and showed the same issue. Then in the editing panel, the footnote remains the same which we cannot delete.
I believe this is a serious issue. Looking forward to getting help from an expert.

Any ideas?
]]>First, when I hover over a footnote using a square window size, or mobile, it goes off the left side of the page (and off the screen), so the beginning is not visible. Is there a way to wrap footnotes so they stay completely visible? (Example in link provided, first paragraph, footnotes 2 and 3).
My second issue is, when viewing the page on mobile, and I tap the footnote, it goes to the “References” section at the bottom of the page. Now that I think about it, it’s actually the same functionality as the website, except there’s no way to ‘hover’ on mobile. Is there a way to disable this, so clicking on it doesn’t jump to references? Either make it do nothing, or just open the footnote?
Thanks.
Thank you!
]]>Not a citation, just a footnote to clarify something mentioned in the text. I get the citations (kind of at least), but I can’t figure out how to make a footnote.
