Informal setting ignored when translating

We are using your plugin and it’s basically pretty awesome. We are writing in English (informal) and using TranslatePress to translate into German (informal). But it seems, that the informal setting is ignored. All translations are using formal language, so we have to manually edit that and replace “Sie” with “Du”.

I have set up Google as the translation service within the plugin.

How can we get TranslatePress to translate into informal German?

for my online shop, I am using formal German.
Just now I saw that there are two German .po packs, one with formal German. How can I select the formal German pack as default?
In case you need further information, I will be more than happy to provide it.

Hi,
i′ve changed my wordpress installation to german formal language. After that the cookie guidelines appeared in English. So I switched back to informal German.
Any ideas?

German (formal) site language results in English “Cookie-Richtlinie”

I would like to switch the language to German (formal), especially for the ?Cookie-Richtlinie“. The standard is German (informal), as explained here (why this is the case eludes my understanding, but that’s another question).

However, when switching my site language to “German (formal)” (from “German”), the ?Cookie-Richtlinie“ comes up with English text (except the title, which remains). Any ideas on how to solve this?

I have a multisite-installation and your plugin isn’t activated for the whole network, just for one site of it.

This site is running de_DE_formal. All looks alright, but your plugin shows english…

I’ve checked /wp-content/languages/plugins, google-sitemap-generator-de_DE_formal.mo and ….po files are present.

So, what can I do…?

Inconsistency with cookie text informal vs. formal Dutch

Hi there,

I have just installed the latest version of your plugin on a.m. development site. In the cookie text both formal and informal Dutch are being used.

I checked your documentation at https://complianz.io/informal-language-in-legal-documents/ and noticed the comments to switch your site language in WP general settings.

Since this site required formal Dutch, I changed from Nederlands (which is the informal language) to Nederlands (formeel). When I did that the cookie text changed to English (so I changed it back).

I believe this is not correct and both changing the site’s languages as well as the mixed use of formal and informal language requires some attention?

Please advise.

Hi there,

Is there an easy way to change the legal documents from formal to informal Dutch? I assume the text is being created automatically based on the settings I inserted in the wizzard. And the WordPress language perhaps.

My website is in informal Dutch. It is not a major issue, but I think it would look better to have this document in informal Dutch as well.

Please advise.

German (Formal) language file is missing

Hello.
You provide a language file for German de_DE. Unfortunately der file for German (Formal) de_DE_formal is missing.
As I can see on the Translating WordPress page for your plugin there is absolutely no translation. So, I’m not sure where to do the translation for this language.
For now I added my own de_DE_formal translation to the general language folder. Please let me know if you want to get this file to add it to your plugin package.
