I really like Namaste! and would like to use it, however, there is one piece that I need that I have not been able to figure out. I need to have a dedicated forum for each course that is restricted to the students of that course. Is it possible to tie into a forum plugin such as bbPress in a manner so that when a student purchases a course they are automatically given permission to a forum that is restricted to course participants?

Full Integration with Invision Power Board IPB

I am trying to have a wordpress front-end and have an IPB forum. None of the post tell you how to do it nor are they giving any information. I have a client with an IPB forum and does not want to switch to another forum like bbpress, So I have to IPB, How can I integrate IPB into wordress and have it import into the site keeping the header, footer, and sidebar if used. Is any of this really possible? I need major help I have never worked with IPB before and would like some help. Most of the posts on this topic are form 5 years ago and invisionbridge.com is no longer up and running. I looked in the plugins so i know there is not one for it.

Apologies in advance for any perceived redundancy; however although I’ve seen numerous similar posts, none are clear, recent, or definitive.

I am quite simply trying to get a forum to appear in the body of my WP blog homepage, which is installed in the root of my site. I have gotten WP-United to serve properly in the past, but as of roughly WP 3.0, it no longer works.

Does anyone know how this can be achieved? Here’s the only image I can find – using the thesis theme.

Hope this is clear – please let me know if you need any further information. Thanks for your help.

Hello, my first post here. For starters I am not very proficient with web-stuff although very resourceful.

The goal: build a WP site to house a resource library of information for the Corvair

On that website include in any part of the homepage (header, side-bar, center field, whatever) a stream of forum topics from the forum we use
www.corvairforum.com

What I’m envisioning is a stream of posts and excepts similar to what the twitter widgits do in side-bars (e.g. the right sidebar on www.tacticalzach.com

I’m open to any suggestions, opinions, re-directs, etc. Please feel free to suggest any particular theme that might be better suited for this.

Also I know NOTHING about the forum (or any other forum for that matter) as I’m teaming with the guy who runs it to help him with WP.

I recently (a few days ago) installed the latest wordpress and bbpress. I’ve managed to create a forum, and I went through all the documented integration steps. I also got a link-to-page plugin so that now the Forum tab on my site goes directly to the forum. Is there a way to do this so that when a user is in the forum, they’ll still see my Home tab and the other tabs on my site? My site is https://www.howgreenwasmycondo.com/.

I’ve been wanting to put a forum up, but finding a way to integrate one seems so complicated.

I’ve tried phpBB, but I cannot get it to integrate properly. So I’m wondering what can I use that will integrate properly (users and registration) with WordPress 3.0? I’ve searched and searched for hours with no luck.

This is a website that features new dogs that are up for adoption every day. I am constantly impressed by what can be done with wordpress and all the plugins. Over the years I have seen this programming go from a powerful blogging software all the way to a content management system. The next step is to merge the WP MU and the BB forum and turn this thing into a true online community builder. I have integrated the BB Forum and user system, but I have yet to do the forum styling and design…so it just looks stock.

If you want to see a vintage wordpress site for nostalgia, check out NYCSculptor.com I built that years ago and just left it there…pretty much unused. But all the coding is still good, nothing broke!

Secret key! Where is it? Installing BBPress

To integrate BBPress with WordPress cookies, I need a secret key.
I have four keys in my wp-config file, and none of them are called “Secret Key”. So where do I get this?

I need help FAST, so please!
