Sela Theme – Front Page Widget HTML Problem

The front page widgets are no longer lining up equally. When I go into them to try to correct it, I can’t find why this is so. However, there is a message for the 2nd and 3d widgets which says: The widget may contain code that may work better in the new “Custom HTML” widget. How about trying that widget instead?

I have no idea what the message means, as I am using the widget provided by the Sela Theme for the front page. The three widgets ‘used to’ line up fine.

Four issues: Custom CSS, Favicon, Mobile View, Desktop Front Page Footer

I’ve run into four problems today:

1. The custom CSS which changes the menu bar colour has stopped being recognised and is showing the default hot pink.

2. My favicon – while still installed via a plugin is not showing up on the web

3. The mobile view of my homepage is not showing the header/title, menu bar or front page content and is only showing the widgets in the front page footer area.

4. On desktop version the footer widgets are not sitting where they are in the customizer.

Any help would be much appreciated (site is MakeTimeToSeeTheWorld.com)

No widgets working on Front Page

I already checked here in this forum for an answer. All the posts have this nonsense https://www.shapedpixels.com/shaped-pixels-blog/wordpress-tips-tricks/show-widgets-on-select-pages-only/ as an answer, but that doesn’t work either! Also, https://www.shapedpixels.com/free-theme-tutorials/setup-longevity/how-to-create-a-front-page-like-the-live-demo/ doesn’t mention that you have to go into Settings/Reading to change the the Static Page to the Front Page. It doesn’t work if you change in the customize section. Also, the customize page section doesn’t even have the widgets for the Call to Action or any of the Top 1-4 widgets needed for that front page. This is very frustrating, because I even went back and redid the front page, and the labeling problem I had before disappeared, only because I changed the page label in the customization section only, not on the page itself, so that it doesn’t show up in my menu as My Front Page. None of this info is in the instructions, which is very frustrating.

FP: Testimonials widget pulling background using unsecure potocol

My site should be using the secure protocol throughout. However, per Chrome Dev Tools, on the front page, the testimonials widget is pulling the background via an unsecure protocol. I’ve looked everywhere and anyplace I’ve said to use the red wall background, it’s using https. Yet, the front page uses http instead. I’ve cleared the cache, too.

front page widget on tablet/mobile not centered

Hi,

I’m creating a website for a client and the theme has worked great so far. As I’ve gone to check its responsiveness on other devices, the front page widget images don’t seem to be centered. They all align left (although the text I have under each image aligns centre).

I’ve tried editing the code (through my child theme) and I can’t seem to get them in the right position without messing them up on my main site. I know something needs editing in the media queries section on the css but not sure what.

I’ve added a screen shot as currently the site hasn’t been launched yet!

front page widgets Sela theme

Hi All
I have an issue and I didn’t seem to find anything about this in previous questions.
I downloaded Sela theme and I keep trying to make it look similar to the template.
One thing I cannot figure out is how can I add/ set front page widgets. All instructions say I have to go on Customise- Widgets but when I go there I only have option to set the footer widgets and the front page widgets are missing. Can anyone help me find out how I could add them to the page?
Also in the template I saw the social media icons appear on the black footer bar. Could you tell me how they can be put there? All I could do was to put them on a footer widget.
I have no HTML knowledge, I try to think logically and google other questions
If needed, although far from being finished, my site is www.angeltrinity.net.
I am still struggling to fit the photo and the text inside the photo on the front page but hopefully I can find help on this in older topics.

Missing 'Front Page" from widgets

I do not seem to have the ability to add widgets to my Front page.

I only have options for sidebar and footer – this makes me unable to add the call to action (or many other things) to the the front page as shown in the demo

Does anyone know how to fix it.

Front page widgets displaying horizontally in Safari mobile

The front page widget block is displaying horizontally instead of vertically in Safari on iPhone. This is distorting the images and text. Suggestions for getting these widget blocks to display as they do in Chrome and Explorer?

Front page widget spacing with IE9

Hi. I’ve recently started using the Celestial-Lite theme. Really pleased with the results. I’m using the 4 front page widgets as per your sample site and they look good in IE11, Firefox and Chrome. However, there seems to be a problem with the spacing when viewed with IE9. The site is:

I’ve not been able to find out what’s causing this. Any ideas?
