How to make your theme work with Gallery Carousel Without JetPack?

I installed the plugin. It works perfectly all the theme I’ve try but when I install yours (which is beautiful BTW) I get this in my post:

Jetpack’s Carousel has been disabled, because another plugin or your theme is overriding the shortcode.

So I’ve tried to desactivate the other plugins but even though the sentence disappears, the Gallery plugin still doesn’t work.

I suppose there is a compatibility issue with your theme. How can I solve it?

In WP version 3.5.1 I noticed the following issue: On right hand side there appears a scrollbar which is in part covered by the div ‘jp-carousel-slide’ as well as the ‘jp-carousel-next-button’.
The scrollbar itself is unscrollable: the next image appears, as if a larger layer were still on top.

Depending on screen resolution, there may be two scrollbars visible: the one described above and one further right which is scrollable (but without any effect).

But I am unable to get the same, I always have this strange effect, as if there were a z-index-issue.

I’d like to get the gallery short code working with the Gallery Carousel Without JetPack plugin for a custom theme. The gallery thumbnails do load on the page, but when a photo is selected it goes to a new page instead of a full-screen photo with slide function. Everything works fine, in the Twenty-Eleven theme so this lead me to believe I am missing some code in the functions file or elsewhere for the custom theme, but I just can’t seem to figure it out.

Any ideas?

Jetpack Carousel won’t open unless my gallery page is almost done loading; in such case the file of a pic will open, not the carousel. However, if you wait till the page is fully loaded then the carousel works just fine!

If you have fast internet, it doesn’t matter. But if your connection is a bit slower, it’s a big problem. Is it possible to make the plugin load first, before the other conent is loaded? So that if someone clicks fast on a picture on the top of the gallery, he or she will still get a carousel? Or any other advisable solution?

I am using Gallery Carousel Without JetPack 0.3.

I am using version 0.3 of this plugin. And WP 3.4.1

Is there a way to show the image count on the carousel page? Something like, “2 of 20 images”?
