For the last three years, my managed Godaddy WordPress site has been working flawlessly with Cloudflare + the Really Simple SSL plugin and SSL Insecure Content Fixer plugin. About two weeks ago, it started giving me intermittent (about 50% of the time) 520 errors. I made sure that all of my plugins, PHP, and WordPress were up to date. I noticed that a page rule in Cloudflare had disappeared, so I remade it. The site seemed to work for about 5 days, then started giving intermittent 520s again. GoDaddy support told me my SSL is working and that there’s no problem on their end. Cloudflare’s one-on-one customer support basically doesn’t exist. When I look at the Really Simple SSL page in my dashboard, it’s very different from when I first installed it, and now it’s showing me several errors and telling me that no SSL is detected, and that I need to get a certificate through the app (which isn’t working, and I don’t think it’s compatible with GoDaddy WordPress anyway.) Did Really Simple SSL and Cloudflare stop “playing nice” with each other? That’d be a shame, because IMO GoDaddy overcharges for SSL, so I’d probably switch hosting.
The website is www.kellyfinan.com. If it seems to work on the first try, just hit reload a couple of times and it will break.
]]>“Localhost Installs”
is a first for me.
Also, I don’t remember making an entry so far in the support forums with “Create a new topic +” yet.
I did not check the checkbox to mark this as “this topic relates to mature content and may be considered Not Safe For Work (NSFW)” as I am not at work right now.
I think I myself use my live WordPress install (Managed WordPress with GoDaddy–GoDaddy is @link https://godaddy.com) as half-blog and half-content-management-system.
I do have “mature content” or “adult, age-censored material” that could at one point be used with this local host “localhost” install, but first and foremost I am trying to do an install to where I can copy my “online” and live WordPress as a copy to my device or a storage drive to then use what I have while “offline” to learn, edit, and create to then upload my modifications to the live site, keeping the live site from crashing as much as I can. (This would also help me cut Internet costs.)
I rather work with www.ads-software.com (the link opens in a new tab) over WordPress.com (the link opens in a new tab).
If I have not explained thoroughly enough what I’m trying to attempt, I have checked the “notify me of follow-ups” so I can come back and answer comments for this topic until (I guess) a moderator or admin closes the topic.
Thanks, y’all guys and gals,

Maybe I’m just a rookie and don’t quite understand the in’s and out’s but I’m trying to Optimize the Wordfence Firewall and I can’t make heads or tails of it.
I have a GoDaddy Managed WordPress and CPanel is not an option.
I can’t find the path via FTP.
Web searches are cluttered with conflicting info.
Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

]]>I’m having the exact same issue describing here https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/multisite-cant-access-dashboard-of-2nd-site/. My site is also hosted on GoDaddy Managed WordPress. Has anyone else experience something like this?
If I type in the url to login to the 2nd site in the browser, it works and I can see that I got in to the subdirectory site wp-admin. But if I use the top bar My sites, or under My sites, click Dashboard for the subdirectory site, I will always get into the main site Dashboard instead.
]]>Here’s the context:
Main Business Site:
www.firmplay.com
Note: this site is built with Ruby on Rails and is hosted on Heroku
Blog that I created with GoDaddy Managed WordPress:
Current/temporary url: 4df.a46.myftpupload.com
Desired url: firmplay.com/blog
Can you please provide me with directions on how to change the blog’s url to be firmplay.com/blog ??
]]>The two main things it tells me to do that I can’t figure out is
1) “Remove render-blocking JavaScript:”
2) The other major thing it tells me to do is to “Optimize CSS Delivery”.
How do I do these?
Thank you!
