Hello!

I a have a few sites that are setup with Yoast SEO. And I just noticed that when you search for the site the description is showing random page content. For example:

Searched Phrase on Google: veriohc

Meta Tags and Google Description

Having trouble with a WordPress Theme and All in One SEO pack and the description of my site.

I want a detailed description that I have written in the All in One SEO pack to show up in Google.

however – all it is picking up is the different pages from each category.

If you type Citicene into Google you will see what I mean.

Hacked Google Description

I’m having all kinds of problems with one of my sites…The description had some spammy language, I couldn’t find anything in the actual site code, so I deleted and resubmitted it from Google. The site’s back up on Google but with different spam language-

Anyone know of a way that I can root this out once and for all? I’ve tried damn near everything.

Google description from index.php file after moving site to sub directory

Hi,

My site was originally installed into the root directory of my domain and working OK.

I needed to move it to a sub-directory per the instructions here – https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory.

After the move everything is still working OK – accept the Google description in search results.

When my site now appears in Google’s search results – it no longer displays any of the info entered into Yoast SEO on my home page – instead it simply shows the text from the index.php file copied into the root directory as part of the move.

mysite.com
www.mysite.com
Front to the WordPress application. This file doesn’t do anything, but loads * wp-blog-header.php which does and tells WordPress to load the theme.

Does anyone know what I did wrong in the process – and how to fix it please?

When using the floating display all Facebook and Google+ shares of my blog posts are displaying this code:

var dd_offset_from_content = 40; var dd_top_offset_from_content

This is a major concern for me as people are less willing to click through when they see code instead of the description.

I don’t have the problem with the static display – only when the floating display is activated.

Meta Tags Mauled

We added a description meta tag directly to the header.php for https://HappinessBlog.com – you can see it with the View Page Source on Firefox or IE. I know it’s there and it works with other sites.

When you Google Happiness Blog, another description comes up after the Happiness Blog name.

Something must be overriding the meta tag in the header.php What is it? Where is it and how would I change it?

We don’t like the current descriptions that’s popping up when people Google: Happiness Blog.

A former programer says they think they vaguely recall inputting that description somewhere (so we know its ours) but they can’t remember where they did it. We recently moved HappinessBlog.com to BlueHost from 1and1 – I’m wondering if it was something left behind at 1and1 ?
