He is the only commenter this is happening with and neither of us understand why. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Bill Murphy
Hello, I viewed my website on a friend’s computer to see how it looks. I am very disappointed to see that the light gray background for my posts are displaying in dark gray. This makes the text nearly impossible to read. This has been happening sporadically on different Comic pages using two different computers of different brand names. My website looks fine on my own computer and my phone.
I logged in on my friend’s computer and everything suddenly looked fine. But when I logged out, my posts went back to the dark gray. This appears to be happening only on my “Cast” page and Home page now.
I logged out of my website on my own computer and nothing went wrong. The website continued to display exactly how I set it up.
I would love to hear if anyone knows what might be causing this.
Or if you go to my site, please reply if it is showing up as either Light or Dark Gray.
Thank you so much!
Bill Murphy
most recently I have a broken dashboard, error in the logs is:
“[28-Dec-2009 16:00:48] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) in /mnt/stor1-wc1-dfw1/380423/449347/www.erosandsamsara.net/web/content/wp-admin/import/greymatter.php on line 170”
I have recently deleted a bunch of spam comments from the imported wordpress.com material I had brought over, everything was working ok, now not so.
Usually I can resolve these issues by switching off all my plugins, and then doing what I have to and reactivating, but this is a hassle, it means downtime for my site, and reentering api keys and such.
Can someone tell me what I can do to tweak the memory managment?
Is it a Wp problem or is it LaughingSquid/Rackspace?
Is there anything I can do?
I have had about 20 fatal errors related to memory in the last 2 days alone!
I am running wptouch, reccommended reading, lifestream, twitter widgets, akismet and wordpress.com stats, is 6 plugins too much to ask?
any help would be deeply appreciated
Joe.

]]>A bizarre request. I managed to find some old greymatter files on my PC from the news archive for my site (www.janet-love.com) that I have now imported to wordpress. However, there is an extensive amount of data missing.
The only form I have it in at the moment is from the Wayback Machine (www.archive.org) where I can view the entries as a regular HTML page.
Anyone have ANY idea how I can get them into my WordPress, or is it near impossible without doing it all manually?
Cheers
Darren
]]>So I finally decided to get my hands on WordPress since Greymatter is a lil’ outdated now, but I don’t seem to be able to import the posts from Greymatter to WordPress. Here is the error I get:
___________________________________________________
Warning: chdir() [function.chdir]: No such file or directory (errno 2) in /home/epleyte/public_html/wordpress/wp-admin/import/greymatter.php on line 89
Wrong path, /home/public_html/weblog/cgi-bin/greymatter/archives/ doesn’t exist on the server
___________________________________________________
I get this error after filling out this information:
___________________________________________________
Second step: GreyMatter details:
Path to GM files: /public_html/weblog/cgi-bin/gm.cgi
Path to GM entries: /public_html/weblog/cgi-bin/greymatter/archives/
___________________________________________________
I have tried various combinations already. such as “/home/public_html/weblog/cgi/gm.cgi” and more but nothing seems to work.
Here is a printscreen of the greymatter file situation:

Obviously I’m missing something that’s hiding in open sight. This is seriously damaging my self-respect
]]>I really wouldn’t like to lose all my pictures after moving to WP. Do you guys have an idea what to do now?
]]>I am currently switching from greymatter to wordpress. When I used greymatter, there was something like an index for the archive. Inside this file you had
1) an overview about EVERY post, beginning with the oldest and ending with the newest on top
2) an overview about the monthly archives.
Does anyone know the php-commands for doing this?
e.g.: I have ten entries and I want to have them one after another in the upper section of my php-template and the monthly archives below.
Maybe someone already did this before. I am looking forward for your tips and hints!
Thank you very much!
Sincerely,
lynx
And if so, where do I get a copy of WP 1.2?
