Blog header edits

Hi,
I’m a beginner. I have created a simple Twenty Twenty site for my company. Its a combination of pages and posts.
One of my post categories is “Blog”.
The page header for blogs reads “Category: Blog”. I’d like it to read “Blog” just like the pages on the site.
Can anybody help me with this?

Editing header.php?

I need to edit – precisely to insert some code into header.php file of my active theme.

Trying to do so from WordPress gives an error.

From what I gather, plugin “Subscribe to Comments Reloaded” is known to cause the problem. I know I could deactivate it.

However, it seems simpler to me to just download the header.php to my computer, edit it, then upload the edited version.

THE QUESTION:
Is there any reason I shouldn’t do it this way? Could it cause some problems?

Removal of Arrow next to Menu and Hamburger Menu Issue

Hello,

first of all thanks to the author for this wonderful theme. I am linking this theme so far. But there are a few things I would be so glad to get help with.

1. How do I remove the arrow next to the menu? I do need to remove those arrows to make more room for a few more menu items. Tried a lot using chrome inspect element to figure out the CSS code, but failed. Can anybody please help?

2. I don’t know if this is me or other people as well. Bue on a smaller screen the hamburger menu is not expanding the second tear menu items. Is anyone facing the same issue? How do I fix it?

3. I can see that the theme has 3 menu options. I created a small 4 items menu and tried to place it as the top header menu. But it is not showing up. Was anyone able to use the top header menu? What am I missing then?

4. Please have a look at my page. So much space is being wasted in the header section. How to lessen the length of the header in order to save some space so that we can have more room for above the fold content?

Help appreciated.

Edit Demo Content within Header Height Change

I am new to wordpress. I’ve figured out how to do a lot of these things but these few items I cannot find an answer for. Any help is appreciated.

I want to make the purple area at the top thinner, reduce the height. I also want to remove the text you see above the Home button.

After that I want to change the font used for the menu buttons, and possibly change the menu style altogether.

refresh after site edit very slo

Hi,

My website: is built on Genesis with a non-StudioPress child theme and it woks well enuf for the past 10 months or so. Recently I’ve noticed an issue with refreshing after editing information in the Header and sometimes the sidebar. I always work in Safari, and I have Quick Cache as my site cache plugin. Now about 2 months ago, Quick Cache made some change in service and I frankly don’t know if this is connected or not. For example, right now I can open my Dashboard and view the site and my edited changes appear as I want them, but when I logout, the changes are not visible. A hard refresh does nothing and sometimes the cache-cleaning feature of Safari also doesn’t work. But, given enough time 1-2 days and the changes appear.

It’s very confusing as I constructed the site throughout ’13 and never had the issue until recently. I do live in Tokyo and my service is very fast and I just don’t know how to fix this issue. Any ideas to toss my way? Change cache plugin…maybe?

Edit "Home" button in Wu Wei 2.3 ?

In many themes, the default home button in the main nav zone can be edited, e.g. from “Home” to “Blog” (usually in header.php).

In Wu Wei 2.3 I could not find the appropriate line in any file.

Any idea out there?

deleting header favicon

okay, I give up trying to do this by myself. Granted, I am a newbie to both word press and the theme I am using, but i have taken all the steps sources have indicated without success.
I want to delete favicon #20 from the header of my site: https://www.self-esteem-support.com. At least, I think it is the header. I have deleted from the icon file, tried to edit header code by deleting favicon line.
Does anyone have an idea about how to do this?
