Hemmingway & WordPress Compatibility

I am updating a website that has Hemmingway 2.0.0 and currently WordPress 5.1.4. Does anyone know that if I update to the current Worpdress version 5.5.1 if Hemmingway 2.0 will still work with it. I don’t want to update Hemmingway to 2.1.0 because I need to update the php too so that it will work with the latest Hemmingway.

remove header image on non homepage pages

I want to completely remove mine and the default header image on all pages except the homepage or certain non homepage pages. i would like for the menu to stay at the tope of the screen when scrolling downward so that when i scroll down the page its always in sight. How can i do that?

How to make posts full-width?

Hi there,

I am using the Hemmingway theme, which I love, but would like some help to tweak the posts and front page.

Is there a way I can make my posts full-width? I’ve removed the sidebar, and would like my posts to fill the whole width of the site. This is easy to do with the pages, but I am not sure how to do it with the posts.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hemmingway- No Comment Box on new posts

I’ve tried all the suggestion I could find and disabled widgets, checked all the necessary boxes and still the “Leave a Reply” comment box does not appear at the end of a new post. If I click on recent posts at the bottom, the pages reloads with the comment box. Does anybody know how to get the comment box back on new posts or is it just not available in the Hemmingway theme? Thanks.

Sidebar Gone from Hemingway Theme on Mobile

Hi – I’m relatively new to WordPress development. I’ve installed and configured the Hemingway theme. When I view the site on mobile (mytakeonlife.org), the sidebar (which appears on the desktop version) is completely gone. It doesn’t appear on the bottom like usual themes. Can someone please help? Thanks.

Trouble with drop down link arrow on pages

Hi all
We are currently working on a blog for our village through a standard free wordpress account (https://moorlinch.wordpress.com), using the theme Hemingway Rewritten.

On trying to make a page that didn’t show in the page list, I must have done something to mess it up.

It was showing with the pages at the top, and a small arrow on the right hand side of any page menu that was a parent to more pages. Once I unticked one page to remove it from the list and saved it as a new menu name it moved all pages onto their own link (even though they showed as under a parent in the background.

So…I made a NEW menu, fixing the parent issue by dragging the children to the side. That worked…it was now showing them as drop downs of the parent but it has totally removed the arrow! How will people know there are more things to see on the pages list without it?

Any ideas? I’m not using any fancy editing, it’s just a basic blog to me and we are not hosting it ourselves.

Polylang translation (search widget only partially translated)

Hello,

I used polylang two make my site available in two languages.
I noticed that the serach widget was only partially translated, the title of the widget is translated (by making use of teh translation strings) but the text in the search field and on the search button is not. Furthermore is the page-title for the categories not translated but the categury name itself is. That means that on a blog post page the word CATEGORY itself is not translated.
Can someone advice on how to solve this? Many thanks in advance!

Social Comments Not Showing In New Theme

I’m currently using the Hemmingway theme on my blog and social works a treat. However, I’d like to switch to the Point theme, but when I do, none of the social comments show up.

Is there something simple I’m missing?

I’ve looked through the forum, I can’t see anything that answers this.

Comments Not Showing In New Theme

If I switch my theme from Hemmingway (which I am currently using) to Point (which I would like to use) all of my social comments vanish.

I’m sure there must be a simple reason or workaround for this, but I’ve no idea what it is.

Has anyone else had theme related problems like this? I’ve trawled back through the forum but can’t find any obvious threads.

can't change header image (Hemmingway theme)

Hi everyone,

I′m using the Hemmingway Rewritten theme and change the header image (customize->header…there I uploaded a different sample picture). Now I would like to change the picture back to the original header image of this theme. So I click on customize->header…

Under “current header” it says “no image set” (eventhough my sample picture is displayed on the blog). I click on the suggested picture (the normal hemmingway header image) and then on “save”. On the left side it says “your design has been published”.

Yet, when I visit my blog, my private sample picture is displayed…:(

But I want the Hemmingway image back….Thanks for your help!
