Problems with my backend after update

After upgrading to version 5.4.03 on one of my 2 webshops, I have serious issues getting into my backend. Weird thing is that my other webshop, which has a few different plugins installed, doesn’t have this issue.

I can’t login through my regular login, I end up back on my login page without being logged in. When I use my safe login page, I get into my backend, but whenever I go to any page there, I get thrown back to my homepage. I can’t edit anything on my homepage either. Weird thing is that, once in my backend, I can go to my plugins page and disable the HMWG plugin. I disabled it for 5 minutes as a test. But if I do, my login session is expired and when I try to log back in, I get the error that my password is incorrect.

When the 5 minutes are up, I am able to login through my safe login page again. I suspect some weird interaction with another plugin, because one webshop has this issue and the other doesn’t, while they both have the HMWG plugin version 5.4.03, although I disabled the plugin on the webshop that was still working properly as quickly as I could.

wp-login is not hidden

“Parseerror” with Elementor forms

Hello,

Since activating your paid plugin our Elementor forms no longer work for visitors on our website, they always generate “Parseeror” message when submitting. They do work fine for anyone that’s logged in as admin.

I found the exact same issue being reported two year sago in the following thread but even though it’s marked as solved I don’t see any solutions offered.

After installing FREE version wpthemedetector.com said, “It was not possible to detect the WordPress theme in xyc.com (hidden), although WordPress was detected in that website.”

also mentioned “Our detection tools have found 5 plugins:” showing all installed plugins. kindly help me what’s wrong?

Multi site installation

It works fine on single site. But when I install it on multi site network it doesn’t work and also show me a warning

While, ultimately, I needed to deactivate the Ghost on my site, the support I received from Peter and the developers at Ghost was exceptional. They went above and beyond to get the plugin working on my quirky site, even offering to implement all the redirects in my WPEngine account (since WPEngine doesn’t always play nice out of the box with Ghost) and run testing to make sure all was working as it should. They mentioned they might have to charge for the work, but didn’t, even though I know it took them hours. So generous. Great team.

Hide My WP Ghost is a plugin where it’s easy to get potentially negative reviews like “I can’t get to the WordPress backend” or “My website has stopped working properly”.

If someone turns on all the functions without thinking and without reading the warnings and very rich documentation, then he should only blame himself later.

This is a really great plugin with a lot of possibilities, but individual functionalities should be used with caution, because each has a slightly different set of themes and plugins, different types of servers, php environments, etc. There is not and cannot be a single switch here as many people would like, but you need to work a bit to adjust the settings to your environment.

The plugin is very lightweight, fast and intuitive. The documentation is very extensive and comprehensive.

After potentially uninstalling, the plugin leaves no “junk” behind in the database or anywhere else (I love such an honest approach).

I highly recommend. Congratulations to the developer!
