Inserting “Home Hero” or “Featured Image” on homepage

I am in the process of building a website through WordPress. I chose the AZA Lite theme because I loved the design of it and thought it was suited well for the type of site I am trying to build. Before I installed it, the Live Preview of the theme showed a “home hero”, or a featured image as the main focus point of the home page. Once I installed the theme, activated it, and began to edit it, the “Home” page no longer had the home hero feature, but a more simplified layout for the home page. I’m imagining it’s a simple fix of adding/editing some custom CSS code, I’m just not sure where to look for that code or where I should be putting it into. I am also interested in learning about the parallax feature that I can see in the theme editor. Can you please help me through this? I’ve tried googling it and looking through forums, but because this is a little more specific within the theme, I’m having a little tougher time finding a solution. I would really appreciate your help. Thank you.

Cannot customise Home Hero section

Hi Everyone,

I’m very to ask as I believe the answer is a simple “No”, however, I wanted to give it a try anyway as it’s quite important to me.

Apologise if this has been asked before, however, I’ve researched for over 2 hours now and just couldn’t find anything.

I’ve got my website set up in 2 different languages, using the free Sensible theme from ModernThemes (https://modernthemes.net/wordpress-themes/sensible/).

I can customise the different pages via the pages option, however, the home hero section is customised via “Appearance – Customise – Home Hero Section”. I just cannot find or see a way to customise this for both languages.

I did find a solution when it comes to slideshows or text only, however, this is a mixture of both and so I’m just not quite sure if there is any other option.

I saw that at some point that other people had the options to choose different groups when clicking on Settings, Language, Strings Translations. One of them was the “customise language” option, however, I do not have this option (I only have group widget and wordpress seo).

Does that mean my theme just doesn’t offer additional languages?

[Theme: Gridsby] Adding Parallax to gridsby

Hi All,

I’m a total newb to wordpress so my title might be wrong, Basically I like the front page in the theme sensible (i think this is called either parallax or the home hero section)

how can I take this part of the sensible theme and place it at the top of the front page on the gridsby theme ?

As I said im a newb to all this and have been looking at this for a couple days now (yeah i mean well over 24 hours)and I’ve messed it up a few times figured out a few other things but couldn’t figure out how to do this…
I just dont know what to copy and where to paste it,
Also would the customization aspect still work in the gridsby theme as it would in the sensible theme ? ? ?
Any help would be appreciated

Hello,
I have the homepage setup, it looks great !

My homepage Menu: Home/Training/Nutrition/…
I would like to make the training and nutrition category landing pages have a large photo (like home hero) rather then the smaller header photo.

Is there an option available where, I can make all my category pages have a large picture like home hero? Right now, my category pages has a header photo, followed by all posts under that category. I would like to change to a different header for each category and a larger one like home hero page.
