]]>i recently switched to a hosted blog and am missing a lot of content. I’ve been desperately trying to get help with it as the missing content is the premise of my entire blog and cannot post anything new because it is all supposed to link back to these missing tutorials.
I have tried to get help but feel like I am just getting pushed from one person to another. I was advised by my theme developer and by www.ads-software.com, that I needed to contact wordpress.com support. Now, THEY tell me I need to contact www.ads-software.com support!!
At this point I feel like I have tried everything I can.
Below is what I asked wordpress.com support to help me with, and at the bottom is their response:
It’s now been 5 days:
Please help. I have been waiting for two days now to hear back from wordpress.com support regarding missing content on my site, https://www.royalicingdiaries.com
Below is the message I sent and I really need help because my links are not working now:
Hi there…I am hoping you can help me and please note that I am totally new to all of this so I need some help in easy-to-understand terms.
I have been blogging for about 6 months on wordpress.com. My site was:
https://www.royalicingdiaries.wordpress.com
I have now gotten a host server, HostGator, and I purchased a premium theme, Homemade Two. Since I am not technical at all, the developer of the theme redirected the name servers for me and uploaded my site to www.ads-software.com and HostGator. I paid for that service and it helped me a lot. They then advised me to have wordpress.com blog redirected to the new site which is https://www.royalicingdiaries.com.
I went on to my wordpress.com dashboard and paid for the upgrade to redirect my site and it’s working great. However, I have a big problem with some of my content because it is not showing up on my site now. I initially contacted the theme developer and then HostGator but both have advised me that I need to contact wordpress.com support for this.
Please help me. I am missing all of my content that I posted in July 2013. ALL content from the month of July is missing. None of the posts at all are available to me in my dashboard at all so I cannot fix any of the broken links that go to that content. I’ve tried everything I can think of. I have gone through every page and every single post in my blog and have made a list of all the missing content. Below I have listed the posts that are missing:
On the page “Decorated Cookies”, the link for the “Golf Bag Cookies” and the link for “Holy Communion Crosses” are broken because that content is not there now.
On the “How I Do It” page, the following content is missing so these links are not working:
How to Color Icing
How to Assemble a Pastry Bag and Tip
How To Make Royal Icing
How To Outline and Flood Cookies
How to Thin Royal Icing
How to Make Flat Dots & Lines
On the Post “Orange and White Cookies” the content is missing for “Wet on Wet Technique” so that link is not working.
Can you please help me fix these. I’ve already let my followers and Facebook followers know that my site is up and running and yet a lot of the links are broken because of missing content and it makes the blog look horrible.
The message I get when any of the missing content is clicked on, is “The page you are searching for does not exist”.
Thank you for your help on this.
Colleen
The blog I need help with is royalicingdiaries.com.
From WordPress.com support:
Because your site is self-hosted with a different provider, support staff at WordPress.com do not have access to your site’s files or the ability to provide support for your current issue.
You can find support for your self-hosted WordPress site here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/ https://codex.www.ads-software.com/
Or you may need to talk to the person who did the uploading for you.
I’m sorry I cannot be of more assistance.
]]>My hosting organisation says this is a wordpress problem and I should seek help from “them” – so here I am.
I have tried to follow instruction on a thread I searched here, but I think its for wordpress site users – about getting into a current theme’s folder.
This is a problem as, if I go into file manager from my Cpanel and find the themes folder – it downloads what is a PHP file and of course I have no idea what to do with that..
My problem is also, trying to be a car driver without ever learning how to re-engineer the engine – and not knowing the language that well either.
But if there is something simple I can do to regain access to the writing and editing of my blog that doesn’t get me lost in php editing, I might be able to manage it…
(Brain is old and slow now)

I’ve got a site, hosted by friends, but there is no plugins tab.
Is there a way to install the tab? Thank you.
