Hi,
Thanks a lot for this amazing open source plugin! I’m extremely new with all the crpytocurrency world out there! So, my first question is:

1. What should I add on the BTCPay Server Payments Settings
page in the BTCPay Server URL field? Should I just add the name of my website like that? https://btcpay.MY-WEBSITE-NAME.com … and that’s all? or should I add some address of my hosting service?

2. Another question is related to where and how is the section to connect my crypto wallet ??

3. And my last question is, which free wallet with no fees would you recommend to me for an ecommerce store ?? I just have metamask, but I barely used it.

Hosting Service Backups

I’m just getting into the multisite setup. So far it’s been a headache, but the fog is beginning to clear.

I’m considering the issue of maintaining backups. I’ve used the free version of UpdraftPlus which seems great, so I’m considering the paid version.

I wonder where the regular backups, which I pay my hosting service for, fit into the picture. If I only want to reinstall an earlier version of a site, or part of a site, do I need anything else?

If I want to migrate an individual site into, or out of, a multisite setup I can see I will need something a little more sophisticated. However what are the chances of the host crashing and burning?

If an asteroid hits the earth, getting my sites up and running again is probably going to be low on my to-do list.

Does anyone know of a good hosting company that offers affordable VPS designed to run a heavy traffic wordpress based site?

Hi all…

I am a newbie and need help…I am using a MAC and looking for blogging software. WP has a good rep but am concerned about some of the install issues and constant upgrading (from what I have read). I want to run a business and not have my time taken up with tech issues.

How simple (or complex) is it to install on a MAC and maintain?
If I choose the self-hosting, I assume I can use any hosting service I choose? Any recommendations? (godaddy?)
Is there an advantage of self-hosting versus the free WP?

I have a WordPress blog; that is, I used to have a WordPress blog. I am in a complete panic because, I cannot find my website on the Internet. The problem is my hosting service. I have Hostazar. Its servers must be down (again). I have sent several urgent e-mails and there has been no response.
My question: Does anyone have any advice for dealing with an unresponsive hosting service? What would you do, in this case?

Moving WordPress from MAMP to a online web host database

I am a mac user and trying out wordpress for the first time to make my company’s website. I am very new to all this. I found great instructions for downloading WP on MAMP and making everything work. Now, we have been provided a web hosting service by terraprime (www.terraprime.co.uk). I was wondering does MAMP allow me to maintain the db locally and then just update via SQL or FTP to the live server?

There is an option for creating a Stand-alone MySQL User (advanced only)
“If you want to set up an extra user without a corresponding database and set up its permissions manually (via phpMyAdmin for the database you want to grant privileges on) please fill in the details below.“

So, if I want to move my locally made website which currently is on MAMP, do I use the Stand-alone MySQL? I would really appreciate some idiot proof screenshot type tutorial if there is any. Do I export the WP package on the Host provided FTP or download it directly there from the web and I like not to start all over again.

Fist off, sorry! for the long post.

I’m seeking your expert advise on the undernoted problems with my blog viz.

1. About one and half month back, I had received an email from DreamHost (my blog hosting provider), asking me to either take my site eleswhere or move to VPS from the shared plan, becasue my blog is generating server load.

After discussing the matter with a senior executive, who assured me that once I move to VPS, things will improve. I applied for 300 MHz VPS as discussed. Even after that, the site is non-functional, because each HTTP request takes 3-4 minutes to respond and dies with “500 internal, 404, error establishing database connection” etc. errors

After moving to VPS, without actually knowing the causes of server load, I’ve tried to reduce load alongwith DreamHost support by removing plugins, js etc., but the load is still continues.

Finally, after considering all the issues, they’ve advise me to get my blog hosted at some other place and assured me to refund balance amount.

But till date, despite my various communiques, they’re not responding for the last 8 days.

In the circumstances, I need your guidence on the following points:

1. My domain was registered by DreamHost as per their web hosting package. Therefore I wanted to know, whether I can transfer my “domain” to some other hosting company. Although, I’ve no dispute with them regarding hosting or payment of dues.

2. May I request, you to advise me the name of some web hosting company / hosting paln, for satisfactory services, based on the following stats:

MySQL Database: 45MB
No of Posts: 22,000
Web Traffic: 3-6K daily

An early response will be highly appreciated.
